Re: 2014 Lapierre Zesty 427

The Ei shocks have a piggyback so I'm pretty sure others would be ok, check with mojo or tf if worried. Otherwise the CCDB inline is coming soon. You'll find better tyres will help on roots, rocks, hard pack etc where there is less reliance on how much the tread digs in and more on how well the rubb...

Re: 2014 Lapierre Zesty 427

Personally speaking I find there is very little bob in the trail setting when climbing, I have set the trail up to be relatively soft too as I find I forget to switch out of trail much of the time and I wanted to feel like I am using all the travel. Personally speaking I feel you compromise grip on ...

Re: 2014 Lapierre Zesty 427

I've just read back what I wrote, I sound like a right grumpy fart  I think you had a valid question. It's unfortunate that even at over £2.5 K there are some big compromises in some of the components on most off the shelf bikes (but do consider that many frames get close to £2K even for alumi...

Re: 2014 Lapierre Zesty 427

What made you go for the X-fusion forks can i ask? Personally i don't mind the 32's, (but that might be down to the fact my old bike had a set of Rockshox Reba's which were awful) and would only swap them out for a set of Pike's Would have gone for Pikes but as the insurance replacement parts are a...

Re: 2014 Lapierre Zesty 427

just out of interest, why do people buy a brand ne bike and then change nearly all the parts on there? doesn't make sense to me. :? and why put 160mm forks on a zesty? why not just buy a spicy? lapierres have had a bad enough reputation for cracking anyway without adding more strain to the angles B...

Re: 2014 Lapierre Zesty 427

Before spending out on anything else I'd swap the tyres out (in fact I did). The OEM NN's are a horrible hard compound and you'll get a decent boost in grip. Here's mine; Changes to stock; X-Fusion Sweep 160mm forks (would have liked Pikes but cost was an issue - maybe later) Hans Dampf front (Trail...
