Re: Strava stopping direct Ant+ connection. Any alternative

I’ve just had a look around and it seems the wahoo cadence meter and app which syncs with strava might be the best alternative. If you can, wait for the dust to settle as other remedies may come to light as it seems Strava has took their user base by surprise and left users scrambling for a viable s...

Re: Strava stopping direct Ant+ connection. Any alternative

Oxo- what cadence meter do you have? Most manufacturers have their own app which you can usually sync with Strava?

I’ve got a cycplus which has been trouble free and works perfectly with TrainerRoad.

Unfortunately I can’t verify it’s usefulness for syncing with Strava

Re: (sort of) cheap bike for Smart Trainer needed

It depends on what your over arching aim is? If your main riding is off road I’d aim to get a bike with similar geometry to your mtb and get some cheap wheels with some slicks on If your looking to dip into road cycling , like others have said the Allez is perfect and has the same geometry as the Ta...

Re: Should I insure my bike?

A few years ago I came across competitors information for a customer. This was specifically a insurance company who insured North Korean ships which was against international sanctions at the time. The sum for the premium. £5 million per annum. During the period of insurance the policy paid out £10k...

Donald is what the people want. Because he's right. Is he right to abandon the Kurds? If you’re Turkish then the answer is yes, however American reach deploying soft power or building consensus for shared goals will be severely weakened. No doubt the Saudis, Europeans, UAE, Japan will all be re exa...

Re: Direct drive trainer for Specialized SCS 135 x 12mm thru axle

I have a 2015 Tarmac pro disc and use a flux without issue

Rather than spend £48 on a new axle I simply used a spanner as a expanded washer.

Re: British champion gets busted for cheating

So when did he used the bot? He did it before this regulation was introduced which is what makes this messed up. If he did the bot after this regulation was introduced, he deserved the 1 year ban. But this was not the case. FFS your happy he’s using a bit to cheat at Zwift, contrary to their user r...

Re: British Cycling sucks!!

Imagine this. Someone uses a Specialized Venge that he got from a sponser for free. Then all of a sudden the UCI creates new regulations which states that all teams have to buy all their equipment using their own money. This regulation is so new, that the Qualifier rounds were allowed to be used wi...

Re: British Cycling sucks!!

He wasn't cheating, he's just a godlike genius with a W/kg figure around 10X higher than your average tdf winner :D He only used the bot to unlock the "Tron-Bike". In the championship it was legit Watts as he was using their equipment. Er no. It’s against Zwift rules to use bots. Oh and “...

Re: Dream bike - what would you spend?

S works Tarmac with discs. I couldn’t justify the price of a new bike so second hand is the route here but even then I’m upgrading from a SL5 Tarmac expert pro so the difference in performance will be negligible and the return on investment in this case is still hard to justify in monetary terms. So...

Re: Best way to compare smart trainer to power meter

As you’d probably expect the turbo tends to be a bit over but can often be on the money. I’m doing lots of short intervals at the moment but what I will say is that things look consistent. I do my 6-7 minute warm up, calibrate then start, same PSI etc. Looking forward to doing some more steady stat...

NRA funding trumps defense , corruption much? Only if there’s a quid pro quo. and it’s not just cash, the NRA have massive political leverage across the political spectrum which would prove crucial if Republicans needed to be whipped into line. Re: Stopping at shops without a lock?

Plan your stops around cafe’s. You can usually sit outside and have your bike close by. I always leave my bike in a high gear so it’s hard to ride quickly and in plain sight but I also have a cafe lock but rarely use it, £10 as it’s a deterrent, no more. I’ve also taken my bike into a service statio...
