Re: Defy to TCR - mistake?

Yep. It's there that I suffer. So dead feet by the end of it. Sore ars* and back, and also some pain in the hands. It is fabulous but it takes me days to recover. And I am doing a 400k and 600k audax next year. So it's really not going to work! Pretty much exactly what I described above. A fun bike...

Re: Is road racing too expensive?

I always thought bc races were eye wateringly expensive. And to get anywhere means you’re racing twice a week minimum du ing the season so 150 to 200 pcm on entry fees. Plus kit Plus transport costs Plus all the rest. Notwithsatanding the cost of putting the event on racing in the UK is a very expe...

Chain Length

Currently have a 28 tooth cassette and short cage on my bike.

Changing to 32 tooth and medium cage.

How many extra links should I add to the chain length (a new chain obviously)?

That could bring my "break even" down to about 28 sets!

That's do-able

Free Look Keo Cleats

Just buy a pair of £499 Garmin Vector 3S and every time you have to send them back they come back with a new set of cleats.

Why has this event grown when etape Caledonia is dwindling - it will be interesting to see this years turnout... will it survive? Etape Cally now sold out for 2019 I believe. IMP handed it over to another company to run this year (Magnus Backstedt involved??) The advertising and social media profil...

The Castelli Idro is also worth a look (Especially if you can pick up one of the first models on the cheap).

3 of my bunch have Idro's and one has the Shakedry. Similar performance, but the Idro is a better fit and a better looking jaisket! (IMHO)

When most people chase the slack they don't gather any. Try again. They will mount. What I have found is most home fitter lack the skills to mount a tight tyre. Go to a shop and let them do it. I have concluded that you are correct, and I'll ask the mechanic to fit the tyres when I give him all the...
