Re: BREXIT - Bercow & Swinson Meet Their EU Bosses to Receive New Orders

So, looks like we might end up with a deal that was worse than the May deal Taking your speculation at face value, if the deal that Boris is negotiating is worse than the May deal it should be rejected and we then have a clean Brexit. Doing anything else puts the Tories at the mercy of the Brexit P...

Re: The Irony Thread

Of all the footy grounds I've been to, i would say Stamford Bridge is the place I've found the most aggressive and uncomfortable, including hearing racist abuse. Just because a team has black/minority players doesn't mean that they won't hurl racist abuse. The Bulgarians fielded a black player (came...

So, looks like we might end up with a deal that was worse than the May deal, which in turn was worse than staying in the EU.

Incredible the amount of self-harm people are willing to commit rather than admit that they were wrong.

Re: Your rants here.

Spent ages trying to fixthe front brake on my commuter yesterday trying to get ready for my commute this morning, which would have been my first for weeks. It just wasn't working properyly took it apart and cleaned all the gunk out, re-greased and it still wasn't great. Then realised the spring was ...

Re: Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

Bin lorries.

With all the congestion, it is really a good idea for them to collect rubbish in rush hour, stopping regularly and often not sensibly (e.g. sticking out at angles across lanes)? Why not collect rubbish earlier (i'm sure they used to) or later in the day?

Re: Your rants here.

The cyclist I spotted this morning riding his fat bike incredibly slowly as he didn't want to spill his Cafe Nero flat white. The pace he was riding was makin him wobble trying to keep the thing upright. Get off and push it or drink the coffee then ride. I once had to brake hard and suddenly while ...

That reminds me. Tyrannosaurus Rex lived closer in time to now than to when Stegosaurus lived. By about 10 million years. Ah. another Infinite Monkey Cage listener! God no. I wouldn't willingly listen to that Brian Cox. That fact came up in a recent episode. Whats wrong with Cox? Wonders of the Sol...

Re: BREXIT - Bercow & Swinson Meet Their EU Bosses to Receive New Orders

Talking of economic consequences I see that ardent Brexiter James Dyson has scrapped his electric car because it was not going to be economically viable. He had tried to do a deal but other companies were not interested and he felt unable to compete on his own. I wonder if he still thinks Brexit is...

Re: BREXIT - Bercow & Swinson Meet Their EU Bosses to Receive New Orders

They are tricky e.g. HS2. There is no reliable way of forecasting the impact, so how do they make a decision? I'd imagine mostly someone just takes punt. No they don’t. Without wishing to go all pantomime, yes they do. If the economic benefits of HS2 were certain, they wouldn't be reviewing the who...

Re: Where to park in london on saturday

There's quite a bit of on-street parking on Queensgate (runs parallel with Exhibition Road) and the road to the West of that and in those areas it's only charged between 8.30 and 13.30. However the hourly rate is quite high. However, the charging times east of that road are up to 18.30 and the hourl...
