Re: BREXIT - Boris' Last Roll of the Dice? - Corbyn Waiting in the Wings?

Just wondering how the Brexiters who said the Supreme Court shouldn't get involved in political matters would spin this, if it happened: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/10/06/boris-johnson-seek-supreme-court-ruling-no-deal-brexit/ I don't see it as a Leave/Remain thing. I believe it is Parlia...

@TM Please don't think I put any store in the Guardian article.
I only posted it to mock the ridiculous headline in response to Loony's post.

Re: Diane Abbot

Yes, all the fault of the English.
Even Wales voting to Leave ( which seems to be overlooked by many) is apparently the fault of the English.

Re: BREXIT - Boris' Last Roll of the Dice? - Corbyn Waiting in the Wings?

Transript of Gove's perfectly reasonable speech at the German embassy https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/remarks-at-the-german-embassy-by-the-chancellor-of-the-duchy-of-lancaster-3-october-2019 The most interesting thing about it is the fake news it generated. No doubt there will be apologies f...

Re: Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

What annoys me about The Apprentice is that now he is investing in a partnership based on the candidate's "business plan" rather than looking for an apprentice, the whole concept is bonkers. They want go ahead entrepreneurs who are also happy to say "Good Morning Lord Sugar" lik...

Re: BBC Bias

bbc news needs to clean itself up, in particular: - being 'unbiased' is not the same as giving liars/bigots/any other scum a platform, doing so creates a moral equivalence, good reporting should attack such people without mercy, and crush them in court if they try suing for libel - live footage of ...

Re: BBC Bias

Besides, how can people's odious views be shown for what they are if their views are not to be reported? Reporting them is what they do already. Failure to challenge them or - at the very least - explain/justify them - is what's missing. The comment of an uninformed idiot should not be used to 'bal...

Re: BBC Bias

I would suggest that barring people' whose views you don't share, however odious you find them is showing...er...bias. That is fine if you a Fox News or CNN looking for a target audience, but not so good if you are a public funded national broadcaster. Pravda Besides, how can people's odious views ...

Re: BBC Bias

Anything is better than ITV where the guy who presents the 10 O'Clock News adds little opinions and comments to the end of each item, it does my head in. T hat said the BBC's move towards getting opinions from the 'person in the street' on every subject is tedious, just concentrate on facts and exp...

Re: BREXIT - Back to the Tartarian Crag

A lot of people on this forum have said that a referendum is also a bad way of doing this. Especially when the result didn't go their way. A referendum is a perfectly good way to do it if everyone knows what the question means, and the possible courses of action are ones that might actually happen ...

Re: BREXIT - Boris' Last Stand? / Bercow Not Impartial / Remain MPs Meet in French Embassy London

Rumblings that the thing that was dismissed as not part of UK proposals this morning, may actually be part of the proposals after all. If Peter Foster is correct, the assumption that Johnson never had any intention of getting a deal seems accurate. https://mobile.twitter.com/pmdfoster/status/117913...
