Re: Silly commuting racing

... Very interested in that jacket ... I've just bought the Gore version of the same thing ... Currently on sale at a very "good" price here - https://www.wheelbase.co.uk/product/sale/sale-clothing/gore-c7-gore-tex-shakedry-jacket-ss19gorec7gtxsdjacket/ just taken the plunge on an XL - th...

Re: Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

Punctured last night in the rain. It was a slow puncture so I got home by stopping every 5 minutes to pump up with more air. A bit disappointed in the sealant but I guess it was better than having an inner tube puncture. I topped up the sealant when I got home with some more and it did seal so I gu...

Re: Silly commuting racing

...What do you mean about the idro? I've had mine for ~20 months now, apart from a hole in the elbow when I came off on ice in Brixton, it's done ok - not sure it's worth the RRP but mine was a gift... Welcome back to the forum George, glad to see you're mended. (For the record, George in his full-...

Re: Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

Every tyre can get punctures. The fact they are not sealing is not the tyres fault. That why I carry plugs. Swapping tyres normally changes the bad luck. Also why people expect rubber not to cut is beyond me. Yhe roads were I live cut all tyres badly. I still get excellent life from them. I have a ...

Re: Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

I only one person running them. He said they felt a bit slow but then again it has a 5mm thick thread sowhat it looses innpace it may gain in wear life and puncture resistance. That's the plan. It's for winter commuting, not for racing so the loss of 5-10w over a Schwalbe Pro One isn't going to mak...

Re: Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

With all this Hutchinson talk I feel I need to refer back a few pages: Just purchased a pair of Hutchinson Fusion 5 Galactik 11-storm. Reviews seem to rate them highly, so I'll see how they compare to my stock Giant Gavia's which after 5000 miles have finally given upon me. It's a racing tire that c...

I've just seen that Laka offer free third party liability insurance if you opt into their email marketing.

Re: Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

The roadlites feel faster to me and on a rolling road the roadlites are almost schwlabe one tubeless fast. One customer (my size got 10000km out of the x guard 28mm rear tyre. I thought I got a fair few miles out of mine. I'm currently on 4000km with my x-guards and hoping they will last the rest o...

Re: Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

I've had both the Roadlite and the Formula Pro X-Guard in 25mm. The X-Guard is more durable and I struggle to notice the difference in speed. Both are great quality and have lasted me over 5000 miles. https://thecycleclinic.co.uk/products/irc-roadlite-tubeless-tyres https://thecycleclinic.co.uk/coll...

Re: Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

3 months in. What can I say. Arsey and Zefs were right. I probably squeaked 1000 miles out of them but yesterday I binned them off. Incredibly fast tyre, very confidence inspiring, but I'm down to the canvas already in a few months. I'll be purchasing the performance tyres next instead of the Galat...

Re: Silly commuting racing

Saw a lady on her phone this morning in slow moving traffic with the window open so took the opportunity to politely ask her to get off her phone. This was met by "no I'm alright thanks" and drove off 50 metres up the road to the next traffic jam. I stopped beside her and calmly explained ...

Perfetto in black for £56.70 in small, medium or large. Best jersey I own and a bargain at this price!

I think the white thing inside is sealant though. Guess I can't really find out without taking the tyre off!

Re: Silly commuting racing

Help needed: just moved jobs and have been told I’m 11th on the waiting list for 30 bike spaces...i.e. that’s not going to happen in a long while. Are there any storage/changing spaces around Queen Victoria St? I have no idea where to start, but after 8 years of commuting daily, this is going to dr...
