Re: Boris as PM

Just had someone knock on the door campaigning for Zac. Have they announced an election as they only ever knock when campaigning. My daughter just said no and shut the door in his face. Heard him being interviewed this morning. The bit about resigning over Heathrow expansion and then standing again...

Re: Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

People that don’t seem to understand the reasoning behind kitchen sink strainer plugs. Your EPO? Mainly, but someone at work does it too. I should add that the EPO knows she is referred to as the EPO and has no problem with that. Mainly because she knows I'm joking and it's not really the case. At ...

Just got back from the aforementioned pub, they definitely sell beer. Oh, and it’s warmer inside than outside. Winter is coming.

Re: Silly commuting racing

I once raced a car from my folks' place to a pub, less than a mile. He went racing off whilst I gave the old dear a kiss goodbye. It was uphill all the way but I passed him as he was trying to reverse into a parking place. Had the bike locked and was sat down with a half full pint of beer in front o...

Re: Ban SUVs

When on holiday in Italy last summer I noticed that a lot of Scandinavians and Germans were driving standard estate cars, some of them had the 4x4 version I grant you. The SUVs were largely driven by the English, Italians and Eastern Europeans. I know it's a sweeping generalisation but it made me wo...

Sorry, things got a bit hectic so I didn't get back to this. Shall we go for Thursday the 24th? We could go to the Canbury Arms again or the Albion as ABFG suggested.

Re: UK all-weather commuter

Discs being harder to maintain is nonsense unless you don’t know what you’re doing with them. Main advantages are more consistent braking in wet weather and no rim wear. I wore out a set of rims in 2 years commuting in all weather. I’ve been on discs for 5 years and only had to replace a rim when so...

I guess some of you would notice from my Strava feed if I started going via Broomfield in the mornings, must say I am kind of curious. Re: Boardman Team Comp - winter project

End of the day if it does look crap, it’s easy enough to change and rectify the problem. Definitely worth exploring the possibility I think just to be sure! I wish more people had that attitude rather than taking things personally then getting arsey and defensive. For what it’s worth I think it’s g...

It's been a good week to be on the bike for my route of Kingston to Hanworth, traffic has been pretty abysmal and it's about to get worse Roadworks starting at this end tomorrow, next week work is starting on Kingston Bridge.
