+1 for the Sutro's

A fairly bold look, but they suit me well and I've got a giant swede.

Re: Advice - First pair of SPD-L's ? Wide feet??

Bont's all the way. Obviously shoe fit is very individual but I've got feel like paddles and I used to use Shimano Wide fit but even they were too tight. After 30-40 miles they felt like bear traps.

I'm using Bont Vaypor's now and even after 100miles/150miles, I get no issues.

Re: First road bike - Observations and musings

I quite enjoyed reading this thread. It took me back to when I picked up a road bike. I remember doing 40 miles, stumbling into a petrol station and necking a bottle of Lucozade and a Mars bar thinking I was about to pass out! Just keep chipping away. Over time your miles will increase, your speed w...

Re: Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

3 months in. What can I say. Arsey and Zefs were right. I probably squeaked 1000 miles out of them but yesterday I binned them off. Incredibly fast tyre, very confidence inspiring, but I'm down to the canvas already in a few months. I'll be purchasing the performance tyres next instead of the Galat...

Re: Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

Just purchased a pair of Hutchinson Fusion 5 Galactik 11-storm. Reviews seem to rate them highly, so I'll see how they compare to my stock Giant Gavia's which after 5000 miles have finally given upon me. It's a racing tire that cuts easily, should be used in good conditions/roads in my opinion. Agr...

Re: Giant Gavia tubeless

I liked the Gavia's too. They felt fast (if that's a thing) and I never had a single puncture in 6500 miles.

I didn't like them much in the wet though.

Re: Rapha Bibs

Assos don't take Rapha vouchers. OP - go for another pair of PT II bibs, or why not get the PT training bibs which are essentially the V1 bibs. They're just as good IMO. I stock piled a few pairs from the Archive sale, but I'm glad to see they've brought them back again. I wasn't suggesting the Ass...

I've owned both and personally I don't think there is much in it. Pick the one you like the look of most

Rapha Bibs

I've got £150 to spend at Rapha and I'm in the market for new bib shorts. I've previously owned the pro-team bibs and they are the best bibs I've ever owned. I loved them and nothing else I have had compares. However, I'm tempted to go for the Core range. They get great reviews and at only £85, I co...

Re: Cockpit

What have you got on there now and what's wrong with it? Integrated cockpits do look great on aero bikes, but seeing as yours is more 'lightweight' perhaps an aero cockpit may look chunky. Deda Zero 100 has always been the gold standard value for money in my eyes and found it a great combination of...

Cockpit

I've had my bike for the best part of 2 years now. Not really done much to it in terms of upgrades. I'm thinking its about time I spent some money on it. I was looking at a new set of deep rim wheels for that bling factor, but if I'm honest the stock wheels are pretty good, and also I'm probably loo...

Touch Up Paint

A rock met my road bike today, resulting in a couple of nasty scuffs on the down tube. Can anyone recommend some decent touch up paint I matte black?

Re: New cycling shoes

I own the RC7's. I have wide feet, so I went for this shoe as they come in wide and they looked quite nice. They are a comfy shoe (for me at least), fairly light with a stiff sole. I bought them at full price a couple of years ago now probably, and they are still going strong. One thing against them...
