Re: Upgrading smart trainer

Went from my Bkool smart pro this week to a Wahoo Kickr. The Kickr is a bit slower in ERG mode I found in finding the resistance, but during a Zwift race it felt better. Not much difference other than noise and lack of wheel slip. Combining with a rocker plate, I'll be able to stand/or thrash the bi...

Re: Disc or Rim brake for a new bike ?

While Alejandrosdog post is generally correct, you have to consider performance. If you're racing, whether it be road bike TT's or road racing, you will want to use deep section wheels. That said, it seems to be commonplace now for everyone to turn up to club runs and training rides on deep wheels n...

Re: Handbuilt wheels... the big thread

Bought a second hand Speed Concept about 4 years ago. Came with a wheelset, DT Swiss 240s hubs, 32 spokes, and a rim with no decals on. The rim is now cracked, so I need to replace it, but I can't ID it. The rim has B41 469 stamped into it beside a spoke hole on the tape side, but there is no positi...

Re: 8.5Kg Giant Propel or 6.5Kg Ribble SL?

Have a read of this: https://www.tour-magazin.de/raeder/rennraeder/rad-test-aero-gegen-leichtbau/a45739.html Aero trumps lightweight, especially on UK terrain, when you're putting your nose in the wind. You can quite easily shed KG from a bike. A lightweight ~45mm carbon wheelset with latex tubes, o...

Re: Do wheel or rims exist that meet these specs?

I'm only concerned going deeper due to crosswinds. U-shape rims are definitely what I'm looking for (I'd choose Flo over th V-shaped Kinlins), but I didn't want to list that as a requirement as I feared people would be put off recommending wheelset or rims. I have Archetypes on Hope Pro3's as my do-...

Do wheel or rims exist that meet these specs?

Looking for all-round wheels for training and racing, but good in the wet and crosswinds too. Something like the Reynolds Assaults or Zip 303's with alu brake tracks would be perfect, but I can't find any that meet the specs of: <1650g Aluminium brake track 38-42mm rim depth 21mm+ width I've looked ...

Re: Bought bike off ebay, has following issues.

- Put a straight edge against the rim. If you can see space between the straight edge and the rim (so the rim is concave), the surface is worn. It'll need replacing, but not necessarily right away. - Tyres pick up gashes easily. Par for the course on our gravel roads - Seatposts don't 'wear' per se....

Sooooooooooo Froome and Porte are able to chat and have a little bit of fun while everyone else is struggling hard  x1000 ZERO CLASS from these douche bags. The way Porte recovers time and again is ridiculous. Bertie going backwards, now he's on a bike that's of the UCI legal weight.

Re: What wheels for < £250?

So far I quite like the Fulcrum Quattros, as they are aero at 35mm and are fairly light at 1710g for the pair. Does any one have any other recommendations etc. http://www.stradawheels.co.uk/shop/velocity-a23-wheelset/ £295 - £408?? OP wants <£250. Yes, and the OP should seriously consider extending...

Look Keo blade - replacement blades?

I see Ribble have them out of stock on their website, but does anyone know where else sells the replacement (12nm) blade? Mine's in an arc and has lost its tension considerably.
