Re: Cane Creek 40 series Headset bearing type?

Managed to contact Canyon direct they can supply new bearings for £34 delivered. Not sure if this is a good price or not?....Will try and get the bearings out and see if the model is on it as sure I can get cheaper. I had the same issue with my specialized road bike but once I found the type managed...

Re: Cane Creek 40 series Headset bearing type?

Yes, its as per your picture. I am just trying to find the replacement bearings I need to order to replace the ones that are shot.

I think I need CBAA0006K 52mm (1.5″) and CHSS2030 41mm (1″1/8) but not 100% sure.

Cane Creek 40 series Headset bearing type?

Hi, Having issues trying to work out the bearing measurement I need for my bike. I have used the online Cane Creek tool but still confused. Can anyone help? The only option is to strip out the bearings in bike, although whether the serial number is still readable... Its for Canyon Spectral EX 8 2015...

Re: Specialized Roubaix Comp 2018

yeah I haven't had a chance to get out on it much yet due to rain, rain and more rain. But will most likely take a few spacers out to get a little more drop to match my old bike setup. But agree that it is by far the most smoothest ride ever, such a good bike for the bad roads we have around Sussex ...

Specialized Roubaix Comp 2018

Picked up bike a few days ago. very pleased.
This was selected after 5 different bike demos, giant defy, scott addict disc, synapse, roadmachine
Paint work on it gets the most comments. Got a cracking deal on it too. Enjoy!

Re: Cannondale Synapse Sizing Help 51 or 54

cool thanks for the input. Yes I was worried too about saddle to bar drop being too much on the 51. I demoed a giant defy in small and looks to be pretty much the same geometry as the synapse in 51cm but I only had 1cm of seat post left on the 44cm seatpost geometry was very aggressive position. Gia...

Cannondale Synapse Sizing Help 51 or 54

Another sizing question but just wondering if there is anyone running a Synapse and maybe similar sizing to me. I am 171cm high but with 32inch leg (long leg short torso) and right in between sizing on most bikes. I actually found the Scott Addict Disc in 52cm the best fit so far but have a demo arr...

Re: First endurance road bike

Hi, I am currently shopping around too for a road bike upgrade as moved across from MTB 3 years ago. I would strongly advise taking them out for test rides so you get a feel for the different geometries etc... and what you want from a bike i.e. comfort, speed etc... If you have an Evans Cycle close ...

Maxxis to Schwalbe Tyres 650b

Hi, I recently changed tyre set to Schwalbe. I have always run Maxxis but the sidewall on the ardent was pretty questionable after a pinch flat and also fancied a change. Thought I would post some comparisons and weight info to hopefully help other people. I haven't been out on them yet so can't com...

Re: My new Hightower CC

nice bike! my canyon had 780mm width bars and I never really settled well with the extra width. Chopped down to 760mm and makes the handling feel so more responsive and comfortable. Def recommend if you run the 780mm for a few months and don't get on. I bought some double clamp grips and ran them in...

Re: Les Gets Bike hire

I rented full DH rig in Morzine in 2014 from http://toricomorzine.com/ very good service and all running sound for the entire week. They replaced brake pads and worn out tyres with no issues.

We got 10% off as booked accommodation via MTBmorzinebeds

Hope that helps.

Re: Canyon 160mm or 140mm difference to pedal?

I can 2nd Rico on the spectral, I own same bike EX8 2015 150mm front / 140mm rear and its been an amazing bike for UK riding. Handles everything I throw at it, quick on the downhills slack enough to be forgiving and great climber. The DBinline did take a lot of fiddling to get the setup and feel I l...

Canyon Spectral EX 8 2015

Just done over 1500 km since getting it in Feb this year. Including a couple of trips to BPW. Still running like new no mechanical or frame issues. I have only replaced the brake pads and gear cable as this got damaged on crash also swapped out the stem for 40mm and trying the bars at 760mm as seems...

Recommend safe Battery for bike light DX

Hi, I recently bought a bike light from DX to give a go and although its been brilliant I wish to replace the battery with something safer to charge up. My friends one recently exploded and I don't wish to take the chance. I haven't yet charged it. My lamp is 8.4 voltage, 4 x 18650 (2 in parallel; 2...

Re: Rockshox Pike Lowers Service - Grease ?

Thanks, Its the TF2 weldtite, i had a look on their website and says ok to use on suspension systems and as its such a small amount that is added hopefully it be ok. I just never read anyone using this grease for their fork service and wasn't 100% sure if it be safe. TF2 Bike Grease with Teflon® Hig...

Rockshox Pike Lowers Service - Grease ?

Hi, Just ordering bits to do the lower service and I noted on SRAM service guide that I need to apply grease to the plastic seals either slick and kick or Sram butter. Before I go forking out money I have Weldite cycle Grease with Teflon (red colour) at home would it be perfectly fine to use this? M...
