Re: Winter headwear

In deep mid-winter I have worn two buffs - one over the head and ears and another over the neck and lower face, leaving only my eyes and upper nose exposed. If I overheat I can reposition or remove them. This is what I do and it’s a brilliantly cheap and flexible solution. They keep you warm in the...

Re: Elite Zumo - virtually new

Probably and thanks for the suggestion but I already have an Elite fluid trainer and this one has features and capabilities I won’t use so it’s a bit of a waste me keeping it and using it just for that.

Elite Zumo - virtually new

For sale I have an Elite Zumo smart trainer. I've tried it for a few days and good as it is - I'm happier being a luddite using a fluid trainer with GCN etc. Youtube training videos. Bought from Halfords I have the original box and receipt for £450 from a week ago. It's currently sporting a 10 speed...

Re: Ban SUVs

A Ferrari sounds like the kind of vehicle to encourage, as it would cause more lower limb injuries which are survivable. .....and yet perversely legislation has demanded car manufacturers raise the height of bonnets for the safety of pedestrians. My Nissan GTR had an airbag under the bonnet ! In my...

Re: Ban SUVs

I would much rather we took the European approach to driving meaning very very slow driving in built up areas, streets built for multiple purposes and widespread respect for all road users. On motorways and dual carriageways fast driving is fine, and often safer than the UK. Everyone in the south ea...

Re: Ban SUVs

This thread is hilarious !! Ban SUVs ? Can anyone define an SUV ? At what point does a slightly raised Nissan become an SUV ? We have a Touareg, it’s simply brilliant. I bought it as my wife’s recently broken pelvis caused her problems when getting into ‘normal’ cars. Initially I wasn’t keen but in ...

Wow, what a total disappointment. Intermittent coverage, Claire Balding (why??????) and poor planning.

Thanks Yorkshire and the BBC for a rubbish performance

Re: Dave Brailsford prostate cancer

That’s correct, if your prostate has swelled to contract your urine flow. If it swells in the other direction you will have no symptoms. A PSA test showing increased levels will give you an indication that you should get some more tests. It’s not definitive but is a good enough indicator to check. O...

Re: Dave Brailsford prostate cancer

5hr op means it’s been silent for a while and they had to dig deep. My bro went through the same thing. 7hr op and a very long recovery as he had no symptoms and had no way of knowing he had it. His PSA score was over 100.....mine is 0.5  If you are a male in your 50s get tested annually, it’...

Re: Outfront mount for GoPro type mount underneath?

JRC components ones are good, I've got the stem mounted one with GoPro underneath. Avoid cheap chinese ones off eBay. 5nm torque is enough to snap them and leave your bars floating in thin air. https://www.jrc-components.com/collections/mounts-accessories I have 3 Chinese ones on the go at the mome...

Re: Should Mark Cavendish swallow his pride and retire?

I used to be a big fan of Cavs back in the day, but I've got to say he's become a bit of a sad joke these past few years that, for me at least, seems to be undermining everything he's achieved in the sport. That head down, explosive sprinting power he had has gone and has been for 3 years it seems....

Re: TDF 2019, Stage 20: Albertville > Val Thorens 27/07/2019 - 130 km *Spoilers*

Bit of a damp squib at the very end but a great stage. Terrified about the future of Bernal vs Froome when on the same team. Epic ride by JA. Big shame for JA and TP. Ineos will back whoever has the most chance of winning in 2020. Agree but it’s a shame not to see them race against each other. I kn...
