Re: Thread to tell everyone what bargains you've spotted!

Gopro hero 7 black reduced just about everywhere due to the hero 8 launch. The 7 has incredible video stabilisation and is a brilliant camera. Halfords have it for £281 - use BC discount and that comes down to just over £250. https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?ca...

Re: Men's Rider of the Year

I imagine it will be between Alaphilippe and Roglic, and I think Roglic may get it for the Vuelta.

Didn't he finish top if the UCI rankings? In which case you would assume he was a dead cert.

Re: Campagnolo Wheels with Shimano Groupset – Legit or Fashion Faux Pas?

Do you have a different brand front light to the rear?

Do you wear different brand clothing on top and bottom? Wear a giro helmet but specialized or fizik shoes etc?

Components are components, makes no difference what the name is, if it's what you want then buy it.

Re: New aero bike vs deep section wheel upgrade

Yeh but a speedsuit only gains a few seconds over longish time trials at speed, eg 30 seconds over 25 miles. If riding in a group the effects will be much less. As fenix said, I think the Mickey taking would be astronomical if you turned up to a club ride in a full aero suit. Tbh though, if he's al...

Re: New aero bike vs deep section wheel upgrade

For example what about one of those skin suit with pockets I think they are meant to be faster than a jersey and shorts ? I'm not sure I'd ever live it down if I turned up for the club run in a skinsuit. The mickey taking would be unbelievable. Yeah there is that - times have changed though I recko...

Re: British Cycling sucks!!

Actual cycling consists of producing watts, aerodynamics and bike handling. Don't forget the most important aspect of cycling, it gets you outdoors in fresh air and gives you a sense of freedom. Cycling indoors can never replicate this. There are also studies which show that (any) training indoors ...

Re: Assos Habu or Castelli Alpha ROS jersey

you get much better flexibility from the perfetto with a variety of base layers than the jacket as above 6-7 degrees it’s just too hot. I think I’m going to go for the perfetto rather than the alpha.. just food for thought Er, that's why they also have the alpha jersey! Sounds like you were speakin...

Under two hour marathon in this climate is both a good time and bad timing True. Such a sad state of affairs that immediately after he broke the record Twitter was rife with accusations of how he achieved such a feat. It seems we now live in a time when any/ every sporting success is apparently onl...

Re: British Cycling sucks!!

I'm an avid supporter of British cycling. However, what I find sad and concerning is, at a time when amateur road racing is declining they are choosing to support and invest (apparently quite heavily) in virtual cycling. There is no doubt that the likes of zwift and online programs are popular and m...

Which year allez have you got? The 2018/19/20 models come with mudguard eyelets and are supposed to be fine with full guards and up to 25mm tyres.

Re: Rattling Cause?

Have you tried a different wheel? That would be my first strategy if I was convinced it was coming from the rear wheel. Next up would be to check the chain and cassette are not worn. If the noise is still there then start looking at the front of the bike as well. Bike clicks and creaks are not just ...

Re: UK all-weather commuter

At 3600 miles per year commuting in all weather and a hilly route would wear out rims pretty quick. Simply not true. Up until last year I commuted a very hilly 44 mile round commute 3 times a week, in all weathers. I had a set of fulcrum 7s which cost me about £120 when I bought them and I covered ...

Stolen Goat. Really nice jerseys. Great quality and traditional/ regular fit. I picked up a couple last year in the sales for half price (£30 each).

Re: (Aero) lightweight bike choice

If you want a bike which is unique and rarely seen on the road then go custom build. The tarmac is an awesome bike. It's not cheap and it's popularity is because of how it rides - which is all that matters in a bike. Although tbh I would actually argue that there are probably more canyon ultimates o...

Winter is coming.... Crafty lobsters go che-ap. Just be aware that these are not the original craft siberian glove. They do not use the two layer system which made the originals so warm and brilliant. Instead they are a standard glove with split fingers, and would be uncomfortable/ difficult to wea...
