Its justified, get one, I did (at that price) good bit of kit for the money.

Elite Real Turbo Muin

Hi, On the hunt for a smart turbo trainer, I dont have a power meter so after a direct drive turbo thats as accurate as can be for as little expenditure as possible. Been looking at various and started to narrow it down to the Elite Direto as I can get that for £650, then came across the Elite Real ...

Pick whichever one you want, they'll both do exactly what you want them to do and do it well.

The fact you're asking the question leads me to believe you'll never be riding them to the limits to notice any notable difference (nor would I).

Re: Upto £2000 possibly more to spend, Kona/Scott/Norco/Trek/GT

evol is just the air can not the damping, but its a trek re:activ shock. I personally wouldn't buy the trek, geo too upright, crapy rear suspension and you are tied into the shock too. I never said EVOL was a damper, I said it was an upgrade I know what it is I have it on mine. I agree I probably w...

Re: Upto £2000 possibly more to spend, Kona/Scott/Norco/Trek/GT

That Trek may have Fox suspension but to be honest, it's real bottom end Fox parts which are fairly nasty. It's not low end internals, it has the Fit4 damper for example, just not kashima coated which if I'm honest I can't tell any difference to my none kashima coated forks. The shock has the EVOL ...

That's why Danny Hart races on a hardtail isn't it.

Re: 2017 giant trance 2

There is a difference between the 2016 Trances and the 2017 models. The 2106 was just a re-paint of the 2015, but the 2017 model has improved suspension design. The 2017 model is getting good reviews in the magazines. It's not like the pre 2017 model is bad, average Joe would be hard pushed to noti...

They're a new brand which uses sportspursuit as a route to market. It's good quality gear, RRP is steep so don't pay that but at the reduced rates its good value for money. Re: Rocket Sportive calories burnt - Garmin vs Strava

Calorie monitoring is not a pointless exercise at all, as mentioned it can give an idea of when to fuel. You need to ensure you have a HRM for at least some reasonable guestimation. I've been using a HRM and an Edge 800 or 810 for last couple of years and with that and myfitnesspal I can monitor my ...

Re: Am I silly to spend £600 upgrading old bike?? Giant Terrago 2008

Yes, you're silly to spend £750 on upgrading such an old frame.

For that money as mentioned you can get a decent new HT/better secondhand 650b or 29 which will be future proofed more.

So you're able to take the bike apart to give it some TLC, but you're unable to take a tyre off and make tubeless? It's really not that hard and installing a valve is even easier.

I'm going to buck the "I'm a man, I let stuff get dirty *flex muscles*" trend. I love the cover for my Osprey, less dirty stuff means less crap being dragged into the house/having to do more cleaning at some point/keeps things dry when out on ride. Shove cover into washing machine, job done.
