Re: Campagnolo Wheels with Shimano Groupset – Legit or Fashion Faux Pas?

Campag wheels can go on any bike and compliment any other components. However a bike with a Campag groupset should never have any bit of Shimano stuff anywhere near it. This is the kind of polarizing no grey area comment I was looking for haha! Anyways sounds like there's a (rare for this site?) co...

Re: Best turbo trainer for beginner

As others have said I'd buy a basic turbo second-hand first. Sitting on a bike for an hour, even in front of a box-set, is pretty boring!

Re: Where to park in london on saturday

See what weekend rates you can get in an NCP or similar nearby. I've booked one mayfair for 12.95, 12hrs weekend rate. Job jobbed. Tfl pain in the Harris give free travel for my boy but my daughter is 11 so has to buy a effing day travel card. She is only discounted if she has an oyster card 11-15 ...

Re: Where to park in london on saturday

Thanks all. we're travelling from bournemouth and as usual network rail are doing replacement bus services on part of the route plus super pricey for four. Coach would be ok but doesn't get us home until about 11:00pm so not good for a 7yr old. NCP at Richmond sounds good. I did see that westfields...

Re: Glasgow to Paris any suggestions

It sounds fun! Taking a bike bag with you is going to be problematic. Can you buy one in Paris or get the Eurostar/UK rail home? That said, I've heard taking bikes on the Eurostar is not as easy as you'd hope. I would plan for a rear rack and panniers and stay in b&bs, yhas etc to minimise kit y...

Re: Mobile phone holder?

I'm probably late to the game, but have never got round to putting my phone on my bikes, to use as a map / gps. I think I'm concerned about the impact of going over bumps, the vibrations then going through the frame and into my electronic phone - maybe I'm worrying unnecessarily? So, I know lots of...

Re: Pedestrian Wins Compensation Despite Not Looking

Do I understand it took a legal team £100k of fees to win less than £5k of actual damages?

Surely she'll need to show invoices to backup the claim for costs?

Hope another outcome of this is a fairer system, seems someone is milking something somewhere!

Re: Saddle rail coating coming off

I suppose it is just vanity and I like 'stuff' to look like how it was intended. I do agree it is not visible when riding and really only I would see it when I'm 'off the bike' but detail is something I've always been particular about, it's just how I am wired! Might look at something like Plastiko...

Re: Really disappointed with my first Sportive performance

If you want to quit after a disappointment do it, cycling its not for you. You are too soft for that. Cycling is for the people that they love to suffer, they are injured, but they will continue. They are looking every opportunity to train. For the people that when for any reason cant get on their ...
