Leferve said they'd never ride it again after the addition of off road sectors last year. Called it a joke of a race and vowed never to return.

Re: Drugs in other sports and the media.

If there's a team triathlon in the Olympics, then Kenya are just looking for a moderate swimmer https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EGqruD-X4AAu09a.jpg :D Look at Froome though. He's been off the bike for four months, yet doesn't look like he's even close to being overweight. I know he's getting on, but hi...

Bellagio is where old people go to die, a town preserved in tourist aspic. Stay in Como, at least you'll find some authenticity there.

Re: Tour of Lombardy 2019 -243kms *Spoilers*

It was a familiar story with Valverde in the chase group. He won't ever work and nobody else wants to pull him to the line. If you can get up the road without Valverde in the last 20 kms of a one day race like this, then you are all but guaranteed a win if you are solo, or a podium place if you're ...

To be fair, given the attempt was sponsored by Ineos, the use of chemical assistance would be good marketing.

Re: 2020 transfers

Where did i hear Bouhanni was on 1.5 million a year? He's never really done anything to deserve that has he? He's the tenth most successful currently active rider in terms of wins. Has stage wins in the Giro and the Vuelta and plenty of other WT races. For a French team, he'll guarantee you wins in...

This is true. But Squinzi set up the Mapei training centre with Dr Aldo Sassi, and tried to show the riders that another way was possible.

RIP Dr Giorgio Squinzi

Ciro Scognamiglio is reporting that Dr Giorgio Squinzi, the founder and owner of Mapei, has died at the age of 76. The cycling world owes him a great debt for his long-term sponsorship of the eponymous team, but also for his commitment to anti-doping at a time when the sport was gripped with an epid...

For those of you criticising Battistella; it's a bike race not a club run, of course he's going to do the bare minimum in the closing kilometres. I don't see much criticism of Pidcock who was also soft pedalling as much as he could. That's how you win bike races.

Latest today in Het Nieuwsblad is that Israel Cycling Academy will take over the Katusha World Tour license. The story says ICA already have 27 riders under contract for next season, plus 11 at Katusha, which would exceed the 30 rider limit for WT teams. It's not clear if a) that is true, PCS show j...
