Re: Assos Habu or Castelli Alpha ROS jersey

I went in a store to buy the alpha today, the assistant talked me out of it as he said it’s just a perfetto with an internal gilet.. they had both in stock so i didn’t sense it was financial. We discussed them for about half an hour and it would seem from his view as an owner, that you get much bett...

Better in which way?

Ok I’ll re-phrase that as what would the main differences be between the branded wheels and the non branded ones.. similar weight, similar price, same profile

Re: Versatile Aero bike ?

Carbonzone, Farsport, Wiggle's Prime, Selcof, Planet X ..... All use exctly the same spokes (Sapim), the same Novatec hubs and the same rims and are built in the same factory in China. The last 3 have exactly the same customer service. All are a lot, lot cheaper than Hunt. With Hunt you pay for the...

What sort of brands are better than hunt for less cash? Not trolling, genuinely interested as I’m after some 50s

Anyone know where they will all be parked and warming up? Is it worth a walk to this area or is access too restricted?

Rounded seatpost bolts

I’m in need of some help please... I have had trouble with my fizik seatpost since it first arrived, the mechanism is rubbish and keeps coming loose... so I bought a new zipp one. This mechanism seems much more basic but I can’t get the saddle off the old post as the Allen keys are rounded beyond us...

Long sleeve summer jerseys

Hi all
Any ideas on a long sleeve jersey which is for warmer weather but with long sleeves. The ones I’ve ordered got returned as they were either fleece lined or had baggy sleeves..
Cheers

What do people think of Zipp aero bars on a frame like this, yay or nay? I’m undecided based on the shape of the frame which is reasonably traditional at the from end

Re: Which Carbon Deep Section Wheelset under 1k?

So when you get wheels made at a place like the above, are you basically paying a uk based person to build up Chinese carbon rims? Or do the carbon rims come from elsewhere?

The bit I can’t understand about uk handbuilts is what the difference is between them and something that farsports would build

Re: Sore under-carriage on wattbike

Thanks guys.. I took your advice, threw out the old ‘not for cycling in public’ shorts and bought some chamois creme. Using my proper shorts with creme and in a slightly tweeked position has totally eradicated the pain on <1hr rides... not tried longer yet.
Thanks

Re: Sore under-carriage on wattbike

I think it might be the flex.. or lack of. I rarely stand outside but I’m talking here about after an hour or so. I was wondering if it may also be down to level of consistent effort and cadence rather than some lower cadence and free wheeling outside too

However on my wattbike (and previously the Wattbike’s in my gym) I get some pain after the ride in my two veg. I thought it was down to the saddle so I have fitted the same saddle as my roa...

4 days in lake annecy

Off for my first cycle trip in May. We are flying in to Geneva on a Friday morning and leaving Monday evening. Any ideas on where we should stay or any must see routes around annecy? We would consider another location but annecy looks to be good for all levels.
