Re: Tyres and wheels for Cube Reaction TM hardtail 2018

the bike will be fine with different wheels/tyres. proper MTB tyres will always be slow on road. If you want it to be genuinely dual-use then the tyres will always be a compromise between the two conditions. You can fit a faster rolling tyre, particularly on the back, like the Rock Razor or Minion S...

decent, grippy headset bung

for a carbon steerer.

Doesn't have to be superlight but not a lump either.

Needs to be able to fit my own top cap, rather than having to use the one that comes with the bung.

any ideas?

Re: What tubeless tape size do i need?

you may even struggle to fit tubeless to 14mm internal, as the valve takes up some space, then you need to fit the tyre bead (x2) either side.

I've done this on a mate's wheel with narrow rims and it only just fitted.

I might be close with the first few but then I suspect I'd struggle.

trick, 'soft' inline carbon seatpost?

I'm looking at - Syntace P6 (v. nice but £££) - Niner RDO (similar visually to the P6 but a tad cheaper) Any others? Must be: - 31.6 - inline - and I'm after one that's quite soft, as it's going on a (hate to say this...) gravel-type bike - doesn't have to be carbon but it's the obvious choice - I a...

any deals on 28mm clinchers?

I usually run tubeless but for reasons too tedious to go into... I'm after some fairly racey 28mm clinchers, such as GP4000S or equivalent (pair).

Anyone seen anything on offer? GP4000S are 60 a pair.

165s on all my mtbs these days. Better clearance. No downsides.

Hope, XT do them but not RF (missed a trick there...)
