Valverde for T-Mobile?

This move may not be as far-fetched as it sounds as a T-Mobile source has told Procycling today that the German team would certainly be interested in the Spaniard. But does a move for Valverde fit in with the Germans' much heralded ethical stance. Check out the http://blog.procycling.com/ for our view...

    The media has been reporting that T-Mobile are negotiating a buy-out of his contract, so you are right Ed, you never know.

    Another monthly cycling magazine(!!) is running an article this month with the inference that Valverde and Pereiro might not get on (in a sort of Simoni/Cunego stylee)...

    Having read your blog it would appear that you are leading readers to the conclusion that if it is good enough for Disco to sign a Puerto rider then T-Mob may follow...Interesting stuff and yet more controversy before the season even starts.

    I'd have to agree...it sucks. It is wrong for Operation Puerto to be wrecking Ullrich's career and sevely damaging Basso in his peak years, yet Valverde is allowed to be free of suspicion despite being on Kelme 2003 and being scathing about Manzano in the media at the time in 2004, as well as the small amount of evidence that there is to link Valv-piti to him, like the small amount of evidence on ullrich and Basso that's almost destroyed them. Manzano was telling the truth it seems. At the end of the day, T Mobile have Brian Holm on their staff-someone who has admitted openly that he doped. I have to agree with Phillipe Gaummont. There is a high chance that ex riders in management might also have a history professional cycling has to dump.

    I had genuine hope for T Mobile's new regime but this just makes it look like they were going through the motions to match the sponsor's desired corporate image. Shows how little they know about cycling if they thought Piti, I mean Valverde, was going to agree to regular blood volume monitoring etc.

    yep just read the hot of the press news about Valverdes' alleged involvement with Eufemiano Fuentes, being investigated by a Spanish newspaper.
    I know it seems easy to say now but i have always had my suspicions about Valverde ever since the name "valv" was alledgelly named in the documents, interestingly "vino" has also come to light in Eufemiano`s documents as well, none of which suprises me
