Where's the nearest trails?

None....I live here(wishaw)and there is nothing that I know of in this area[V] Hopefully someone can prove me wrong as I am also looking for a place to ride[:p]........

I've been told Glentress isn't far away on another forum.

I've also done a forestry track in Shotts. It goes from Benhar Road in Shotts and comes out at Fauldhouse.

Thinking of checking out Blacklaw Hill? Near Climpy between Shotts and Forth where the opencast used to be too.

Glentress is gonna be a good hour/hour and a half drive away, as are most of the 7 stanes.

If you head towards Paisley/Barrhead, I've been told there are some decent trails. They are in the Braes country park apparently but I've yet to find them.

There are also a few bits and pieces towards Milngavie.

Carron Valley would be about an hour from Carluke. It's got some decent man-made trails and is near Denny to the north of Glasgow.

I would have also suggested Lennox forest for some north-shore/freeride but the council or forestry commision have recently decided they weren't happy with the health and safety issues and took chainsaws to the place unnanounced.

Basically anywhere worth riding, you're gonna need to drive a fair distance I'm afraid.
