5th Element Oil Change.

I have basic knoledge of rear shocks, and i was wondering how easy it is to change the oil on a 5th Element coil rear shock.
The shock, has had the oil drained (not by me).
And so i am wondering if it is possible to put new oil in.
If you could point me in the direction of a guide of how to do it/ any tools i will need that would be a huge help.
Any advice would be good.
I have checked google and read the owners manual but i could not see anything.

You didnt see anything because your not meant to do it yourself, Get it sent to Tim Flooks, Your lucky you didnt release the nitrogen into your face.

dont bother send it to TF tuned for fixing.
it is unlikely you have the tools needed.

RideMonkey.com has good advice on taking apart shocks, but you will have to search for yourself.
There is also [url=this its for the manitou shocks but they are pretty much the same as the Progressive

yes but that is for the DHX coil shocks, not seen anything re the elephante.

As i said i didnt open it myself. so its unlikely that would happen...
And thanks for the advice, ill send it off for a service + get it sorted, probably not TF as i dont have much of a budget at the moment.

I agree, I don't really want to be messing around with the internals of my 5th Element shock.
Leave it to TF Tuned Shox, they know what they're doing.
Such a shame 5th Element stopped making MTB shocks, I'm going to miss mine when something goes in it which can't be replaced.Dave S0 -
Agreed its a shame about the 5ths, Any racer with decent results at one point ran a 5th, Tho I think if you managed to get hold of some detailed drawings of the internals and knew a machinist then anything can be re-made or replaced. Long shot but only way to keep them going when spares run out.

Been out on mine this morning and is as smooth as ever, hopefully will last me a while yet.
I haven't ridden a Fox DHX 5 coil shock but my 5th Element is a superb unit for sure. Will probably have to switch to Fox eventually unless something better comes along in a similar price range but my 5th is still ironing out the bumps as well as ever for nowDave S0 -
I used to have a 5th on the V10, Agreed it was amazing, And it was the benchmark for the new breed of platform shocks when they first started apearing, Riding a DHX5 now on the Glory, Once its set up how you like it theres really no difference that I can tell, Both amazing shocks.
