The flip side is wanting to gain some kudos from heroic or worthy ancestors. WDYTYA makes this really obvious with people delighted with the one great great grandparent who has a plucky underdog story. Not so much about the other 7 who led unremarkable lives.

Several recent posts ring true. Various countries playing tit for tat all started by a bully boy and his squawking parrot usk. The sooner people realise that common sense and diplomacy is the correct way and wokeism and plaguerism is so yesterday the better. PS the tories need a leader that isn't spineless. Personally they need a modern Maggie back to spank things into touch.
