I'm getting seriously seriously convinced now.

Ooooh BIG news

Trumps going to be pissed. Now he's going to get the age related jibes, not to mention legitimate competition.

It will make no difference, the damage was done in that first debate. Trump then ‘getting shot’ and using that to declare God protected him has ensured he’ll win. The US is such a backwards country in so many ways.

Dunno. It's going to be an interesting few months for sure, but now Trump is an easier target without the "But Sleepy Joe..." comeback.

But in reality, who is going to mount a serious challenge to Trump?

Joe Biden's corpse would have been preferable to Trump

So the PooStain funded orange shitgibbon vs a non white non male... What could go wrong in the world?

Harris will. She is a lot tougher than people think, she has name recognition and a huge fundraising base.
One of the biggest issues that counts against Trump was the SC court decision to overturn Roe v Wade. Abortion rights are huge in the US and women and independents will vote Harris.
Trump beat Clinton because people underestimate the broad range of voters he brought into play (not just white male Southerners as people expected). Harris would also likely do similar, her appeal will be wider than people think.
Also a lot of swing voters who could not back Biden for age/competency reasons will also now be in play.
It will he interesting if she is the nominee to see her against Trump in a debate. Trump will not like going up against a strong woman, and I think Harris would likely make him look flustered.

lol you think Americans are gonna vote for Harris when they didn’t vote for Clinton?
Id be delighted if I was wrong but give over.

It's a fair point, at least the Democrats will have a competent contender now though. With Biden it was just embarrassing and not a good look for the US.

I have a Masters Degree in American Studies and have lived and studied there, so yes I do think exactly that.
Comparing Clinton to Harris because they are women shows little understanding of who they appeal to, or events that have taken place since Clinton was the nominee.
1 -
Because a lot of Americans also felt that Clinton should have been in jail.

A lot of Americans believe Trump won the last election too, I think that confirms what I’ve been saying.

I’d be delighted if you were right. The American experts at the time didn’t expect Trump to first be the republican nominee and were utterly convinced Clinton would walk that election so I am not convinced that the running form has much relevance as it used to in forming predictions.

It didn't do Obama much harm and the Yank knows of and would respect The Thatch.
Oh, good to see the SNP MP's make it down to Westminster in the campervan.

If we remember that it was that one debate that exposed Biden, then if there is another one with Harris, and if she can press all the buttons that will make him mad (well, her just being there as a woman of colour will press a lot of buttons), then he's going to find it hard not to lose the plot.
At least it's not now a contest between two too-old men with decomposing brains, with one of them being a showman (and rapist, and felon, and liar, etc, etc) and the other being a rather boring nice guy.

Fair play to Joe, it must have been one of the most difficult decisions to make, and he did it because he is a proper grown-up politician.
KH is going to have a load of shit thrown at her but she should be up for the job and hopefully she gets a dream ticket for VP candidate.
The Dems need to dig in now against the criminal liar and his dubious side-kick*.
*No, not God.

It certainly is difficult decision making when your decision making faculties are considerably in decline.

Don’t know about the decision making being in decline, just his ability to communicate quickly and effectively?

Ach away and have a wank over your neighbour's Tesla.

The polling so far puts her about neck and neck with Trump. Despite minimal exposure.
Also, to date the polls will be based on one not candidate Vs a candidate.
So too early to tell.

I wouldn't expect him to till after Biden had. My suspicion would be that behind-the-scenes machinations (notably with Pelosi) would include some guidance on who Biden might endorse, and then leave that to him initially. I can't imagine Biden being nudged aside without some thought about who he might nominate and the process for announcing it and then promoting his choice.

Definitely too early to tell, given she's not seriously been thought of as the Democratic nominee, nor really been in the limelight. I think it'll give a fillip to Never-Trumper Republicans that they now won't have to excuse Biden's age in their choice, and if they really want to hammer home Trump's age and cognitive flaws, they've got free range and no excuses to make. The attacks will be brutal. (Conway is Kelly-Ann Conway's ex-husband.)

Those polls were before he was shot, and before she was potentially on the top of the ticket.
