Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

Also the guy who let a cow loose in Staines complaining about the way the police stopped it (which seemed a bit odd to be fair) was a bit rich.
Maybe don't let your cow loose in surburbia or catch it yourself.

Think that's just untrue. It's widely reported when someone dies due to a collision with a police vehicle. It's more the utter stupidity of the officer. Could have gone really wrong for him, let alone anyone else nearby. Can't understand why they didn't find someone used to dealing with livestock.e

"Double whammy."
I see what you did there. 🤣
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

From what I've read they need to send some to farms so they know how they get their chips.
I do take your point though. Could also apply to adults.

Still remember on the French exchange when the French farmer wrung the chicken’s neck.
Teacher told me off for reminding the girls about it whilst they tucked into their chicken haha

It's good for people to understand where their food comes from I think the macho 'show them all the gore' is probably counterproductive. Also, eating an animal in no way makes it acceptable to abuse them in the way the police officer did.

Honestly, it’s a cow.
The farmer should be getting the beef for letting his cow loose.
The reaction is way out of proportion.

1. It's a calf. If you find yourself driving a car at it you clearly have no clue what you are doing with livestock.
2. Sure , the owner should look at how the animal escaped. Bit of an assumption that it's some failing on their part.
3. People who don't care about animal welfare tend to then apply the same to people. Not great for a police officer.
Also, if it were a cow you'd more likely be milking it than eating it. Maybe you should have paid a bit more attention at the farm visit.

Should be advising the farmer on what free range actually means.

When you wash the seagull shit off your car in preparation for an MOT early on Monday, only to find the next day they have crapped on it again. Out with the bucket and sponge again... Grrr.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Seagull shit is an MOT failure now??? 😲

The whole story is an illustration of the cognitive reasoning skills of the average PC.

Yeah, it looks a pretty stupid way to deal with the situation.

It's clearly a calf and hardly looks threatening. I was expecting a rampaging bull based on some comments.

From experience, everything with four legs that goes "moo" is a 'cow' to some people. They can be quite lively, and was probably stressed and jumpy by this stage, but it's no excuse to batter it with a vehicle, any more than they'd have done that with the horses on the loose in central London.
Co-incidentally, I followed and then overtook an obviously stressed ewe on the main road between Teignmouth and Dawlish a couple of weeks ago... there was a long line of cars behind it as it refused to turn off the road, so I managed to get past it just as police arrived in a car behind, and between us we managed to turn it up a cul-de-sac. I didn't see the dénouement, but the police and a couple of pedestrians followed it. It didn't make the local news, as far as I saw...

Maybe someone using a footpath across his land left a gate open? I regularly see walkers opening a gate and then not bothering to shut it properly.

Can't say I've ever seen RC take the side of the police in any debate. He must really hate cows or farmers.

I can confirm that it isn't given I've just picked my seagull shit decorated car which sailed through it's MOT.
What doesn't annoy me is the total charge of £190 for a service and MOT and no more charges till next year!

Since when have 'normal' Jaffa Cakes been 'fun sized'? I've not had any for years, and the change is almost as bad as the shrinkage of Curlywurlies. I've just eaten a whole packet.

Now Rick is defending the police and agreeing with farmers, curiouser and curiouser...

Those cows do live very large houses (well barns, but they could be used to house struggling middle-class families who only make low 6 figure annual incomes).

I can confirm that a nice shiny, seagull shit free car that is nearly 20 years old has sailed through its MOT. Even the groaning suspension noise wasn't apparent. They could see nothing wrong.

Stop reading articles with headlines starting with "New rules could cost motorists thousands...." chaps. They are all old rules that don't cost anything if you follow them.

Probably since Cadbury duo bars have been the same size as a single bar used to be.

What I don't see is a correlation with my waist size. Why is that?

It would only be relevant to pets that die on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays because people call in sick with Mondayitis or Fridayitis on a routine basis already.

I had a colleague about 20 years ago who asked for compassionate leave when their cat died
