I'd expect Corbyn to win comfortably, but I assume Labour would prefer this than to accept him back in the Labour party.

Yeah, they shouldn't need the seat and it's not like Corbyn will be supporting the Tories.

Unfortunate for the optics that the handiest place to the Airport in NI is the slipway that launch Titanic

Not sure how they are going to get candidates to apply for all these vacant spaces and carry out robust vetting in time to get them on the ballot. I assume they have a list of potential candidates that will get parachuted into seats but it doesn't bode well for high quality candidates (an issue for all sides).

Yeah, there's probably going to be some stories about this intake of Labour MPs in the next parliament.
Tories less so....

You're probably right, I just struggle to see where the improvement will come from. Party unity seems to have got worse since the election call not better.

Yeah but they're all disorganised at the moment.
Give it a couple weeks, they'll sort there sh!t out. He'll make a few gaffs and then learn from those and by the end it will be passable.
labour's biggest problem is everyone knows it's in the bag so voters just won't bother as the scores are already on the doors, and that could be the difference between getting a majority and a thumping majority.
Labour needs to keep on with "if you want a party who will sort out this lot's mess, you need to go and actually vote"

The slight flaw with that is whether people believe that Labour will be able to sort anything out.

Seems pretty clear that people are at least willing to give them a go.

This such a weak argument. We're all sick to death with self inflicted problems - the list is endless. No-one really cares who comes next, as long as they not this lot.
What about this being the 3rd PM this term that makes you think this lot are anything but mental?

The slight flaw in your optimism is that for this election, this doesn't matter any more.

Will the government fund Casement Park in time for the Euros?

So we have a choice between a party that have proved they are incapable or a party that may yet prove to be incapable, not that difficult a decision.

My thinking is more around where on earth the momentum comes from for sorting it all out...
I'm guessing Jeremy Hunt and Michael Gove are still left over from the sensible- ish bit of the party.
I have no confidence that Rishi will get significantly better in 6 weeks given he seems to have not got any better since the Tory leadership contest.

Suggests you now have to be old and thick to vote for the Tories (or their stroppy sibling Reform).

Having worked with various Whitehall depts through previous roles and knowing people who know him, you wouldn't want Gove anywhere near trying to sort it out.
I have said on previous threads, after the GE there will be an ideological fight for control of the Tories. You will need the One Nation Tories, people like Ellwood, Nokes, Green etc. to take on the right wing factions. If they don't take back control, the Tory party may not exist much longer.

If Gove and Hunt are now considered the sensible ones there really is no hope.

I think you're all forgetting that there was a spelling mistake on one of the Labour Party social media videos
It's all to play for.
