    Morning Cyclotrons

Windy brr which is a lot colder than brr.

    Beans ***Live update***

Beans is going bonkers upstairs. It's protest see. I have to buy Whiskers pouches in gravy - meaty selection online as it's not available here.
Sometimes there is a gap when the delivery is late so I have to resort to poultry or Fish, which he will just about eat at a push.
Cat food in jelly is an anathema to him.

...but when we get the right pouches after being force fed the devils food for a feline eternity, he wants more than his ration. He's sucked up to everyone this morning acting very cute but no one has yielded. He's had 1 and the other two will get staggered through the day as part of his 3 a day ration or else i'll be broke and he will be fat and then that will be cured by the former.
So now he's running around like a lunatic and attacking imaginary foes.

    What am I doing...

Think gravity. The hamiltonian of a system of particles interacting merely through gravitation remains unchanged under infinitesimal rotations. This means that a quantity associated with rotations, let's call it L, will be conserved.

In practical terms for non-physicists: rotational invariance => total angular momentum is conserved. Translational invariance => total linear momentum is conserved.

This applies to every differentiable symmetry, and applies to both classical and quantum systems. It is one of the reasons why high energy physics descrives forces through their symmetry (e.g. the strong nuclear force or QCD, is "SU(3)")

Yes, what are you doing Haggis?
'Cos like, that went woosh just like the other one.

Sh*t, I wish those girls would bloody well hurry up.
Need to get them to school (or as Kiswahilli speakers say in English - 'scoor').

Morning. Currently waiting for my accelerated year 10 class to finish the starter problem on the board then Venn diagrams. Meetings, assembly, marking, teaching, Duke of Edinburgh prep for the rest of the day #livingmybestlife

with their spirals - often in a fibonacci sequence https://www.fq.math.ca/Scanned/8-5/onderdonk.pdf - they have a kind of radial symmetry, though it's imperfect/broken, it is spiral symmetry breaking that gives them their mass

Easy start for one of us non-desk jockeys. It is a new week after all. Need to go off and collect yet more bits, inc what should (🤔) allow me to complete the build of the greenhouse subProject. Prob take a deviation or 2, suss out some backroad and cafe options which I've been told about, sketch some new to me alt ride routes.

Forecasting -4 overnight. Oi spring, c'mon!

    Morning
Just cleaned the bathroom for the first time in 6 weeks as I have been unable to kneel down the clean the shower tray and trap. The missus claims to been cleaning it
I suspect otherwise. However I imagine pointing this out would only lead to ending up in the dog house.
Rest of the day will be walk the dogs, climb on the board and watch some cycling.

I quite like that Fibonacci sequence but I would soon run out of Lego for illustration purposes.
Perhaps Shorty could draw a Fibonacci spiral and learn some maths outwith ordinary curriculum.
...and then Beans could sit on it. Cats love paper, it insulates their bums and stops you doing work, which is always silly (but interesting) to a cat.

That's one helluva greenhouse 'Loon. Must take a look at it sometime. See what all the fuss is about.
Does the washing line circumnavigate the greenhouse?

Where's HD? Sat in a&e waiting for an x-ray, watching skiing vids longingly on his phone until his battery runs out?

Dampish ride. Now at desk, staring into the void of existence.

Have you started your new job yet?

I has the solution: go semi-retire to the West country cottage doing consultancy stuff whilst wifey earns the bulk of the dosh and in between, do an OU degree in some European History + cycling + cider making.
You'll need a cat too. No point having a wood burner without a cat to warm itself.

I finish here next Wednesday, then off to Tenerife on Thursday, back on Tuesday, start new job on Friday.

Any sort of retirement is v unlikely due to the need to pay 2 mortgages and, for the next 6.5 years, school fees. Sounds blissful though - a bit of learning, a lot of riding.

Dog rather than cat - I don't want a house cat, and there's no garden in Porlock.

WFH as Mrs. 666 is at a funeral for most of the day, so am dog sitting while working in the house. Busy week as its appraisals time and there's lots of unnecessary online form filling to do.

Dammit, I thought I was stuffed for at least 10 years, and you're right. That should be less than school fees though, as hopefully she can get a job in the hols.

Uni fees = 9k, rent = 6k. Living expenses and spending money - depends, but if she gets a holiday job that'll cover part of it. Just pray she doesn't take up Polo as a sport at uni like mine has :#

I guess the rozzers lock their horses up at night in case they end up on bricks with their horse shoes missing.

    :)

Reminds me of the old spoof news article about Scouse Formula 1 pit crew:

"The Ferrari F1 team fired their entire pit crew yesterday."This announcement followed Ferrari's decision to take advantage of the British government's 'Work for your Dole' scheme and employ some Scouse youngsters.

The decision to hire them was brought about by a recent TV documentary on how unemployed youths from Toxteth were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without specialist equipment, whereas Ferrari's existing crew could only manage it in 8 seconds with millions of pounds worth of high tech gear.

It was thought to be an excellent, bold move by the Ferrari management team, as most races are won and lost in the pits, thus giving Ferrari a massive advantage over every other team.

The scouse lads were brilliant at their home practice sessions, however, Ferrari got more than they bargained for! At the crew's first real race practice session at Le Mans, not only was the scouse pit crew able to change all four wheels in under 6 seconds but, within 12 seconds, they had re-sprayed, re-badged and sold the car to the McLaren team for 8 cases of Stella, a bag of ganja and some photos of Lewis Hamilton's bird in the shower."

Some ups, some downs, none on a bike.
Some bits collected, some bobs not as glazier guy was gone out at dentist appt it turns out. Revisit tomorrow.
Then find while cutting this big old plank into shed shelving sections that there has been some woodworm action along one edge. Do I have a can of wood treatment somewhere? No as I find; back down town again.
Slow progress but at least the sun popped out this afternoon.
