Hi
I've took the reservoir cover off and the stainleess steel plate is loose inside. Could anybody tell me what it is for and more importantlty where abouts should it be?

    I will try again it XTs m775 not 970, I've got the dreaded lurgi and not thinking straight

    According to this exploded diagram there shouldn't be a plate in there.
    It's either been dropped in there by a previous owner during a service or it has somehow migrated from inside the control somewhere.

    I could not see it in the exploded diagram, then I watched this on bleeding brakes
