France have to score to stay in it, but then Argies only need one more.

Well that match got more interesting the longer it went on. Oh well. At least les Bleus didn't go home after the 1/4 finals. #ABE

How so? Argentina were much the better team. Fair play to France for staying in it but the Argies had their number.

Brilliant final to watch as a neutral

Only a purely footballing level it has been a fantastic tournament, finished off with a fitting final.

Some great games throughout and wonderful goals. Most teams played exciting, attacking football.

The referees have been mostly excellent - the games have undoubtedly been helped by a willingness to let the game flow and the refs not being too fussy.

I do wonder if the mid-season timing has helped - we've seen the players at their peak rather than jaded after a long season.

Yep, great to watch given I wasn't too fussed who won. Back to the PL in just over a week...

  • On balance, Argentina have improved throughout the tournament, and last 15mins aside, were the better side today.

Whilst not an Argentina fan, can't begrudge Messi his World Cup win. At 35 I thought he was past it but still had enough left to drag his side over the line.

Any Messi v Ronaldo debate can at last be put to bed.

Not so much of the winning for Neymar
