Skipping the morning run, hoping I'll still have motivation to go later when it's warm and sunny.

Gentle run with hounds, work stuff and later undecided, as meeting pals for a hill run either tonight or tomorrow night. Hopefully tomorrow as I’m bored of not drinking this week already

Isn't there a pub at the bottom of the hill?

All the best laid plans of mice and men*...
Was to go pedalling. We shall see - it's very dark and seemingly foggy, though hard to tell. Sparrows are doing their usual morning conflab - in the Privet near the kitchen and they are quite noisy and animated.
Jack brought me a live mouse at 1am. I set up the humane mouse trap. Jack sat watching. Then at 3 am(ish) I think, I heard an almighty racket. Decided to leave him to it. Mouse was scoffed and then Jack preceded to make some funny mews sounding like he had indigestion.

*Burns had his moments but mostly, he was shyte.

Sounds like the humane mouse trap just saves Jack the effort of catching his breakfast.

With 3 cats, that story feels very familiar. I hate the way they drop their catch (inside) like they've left you a gift.

The perpetual split personality of a cat. Theory being, that mothers bring quarry to their kittens to show them which starts with dead, then half alive, then alive.
And on the other hand, they mew (a kitten habit, not a wild adult trait) and suck up to you for food like you are the parent.

I feel for SG's cat with no access to the wildlife though I did post an 8 hour mouse video for his cat, so far unmentioned and obviously unappreciated. [goes off and sulks].

Anyway, the mouse would have had sanctuary if he/she had got into the humane mouse trap. Though the noise of Jack trying to extract mouse from that inner sanctum would have meant I would have to get out of bed to release the thing.

You should have put them* under your mattress last night.

[*why do we describe trousers in the plural, why is it a 'pair' though contrarily a single item? Did some bright spark have two trouser legs and decide in a Eureka moment to join them at the top? Why am I not looking forward to putting on 20 layers of cycle clothing?]

Look - we have our yearly quota. The sun has been out for about an hour and therefore, we have used half our annual allowance.
I have a good source that tells me that it ain't much better in Welshland.

Haven't you got a keyboard or a biro to shout at?

Survived my MRI scan at lunchtime - must have been in there for nearly an hour and almost dozed off for a bit. Better catch up with work although can't work in the studio till tomorrow as the paint is still drying on the walls.
