Tubeless fail

New to the tubeless game, so apologies in advance for cluelessness.
So, descending at speed down a gravel trail at local forest, I hit *something* hard and suffered an instant flat.
Pulled over, no obvious puncture so I pumped up tyre, but it kept losing pressure, and eventually came off. Loads of sealant still in tyre but would not seal, resorted to a tube. Was it just that I had unseated the tyre and lost my seal, and my pathetic mini-pump couldn't re-seal? Help!
Setup: 700x35 Panaracer Gravel King SK, Stan's sealant.

    Yeah, CO2 inflator lives with the road bike, might give it a new home. I really hit the bump at speed, I am wondering if I literally knocked the tyre off the rim.

    Oh and carry a spare inner tube and pump for when the C02 cartridge fails to inflate the tire and you are 50 miles from home.

    Yup, tube is a constant, pump is attached to bike!

    I've had this happen once, when my tyres were pretty low and the front tyre burped and lost pressure. Thankfully I had a tube which I could insert.

    With gravel, there's a trade off between confidence and comfort.
