Sounds horrible out there but the hounds don’t walk themselves. Also being picked up in just over an hour by a mate to go running in the hills - should be different!

The rest of the day is all about the eldest rugrat as it’s his birthday weekend

Wind seems to have dropped a bit here, although still windy.
Haven't been to survey the damage yet, hopefully only the bins have blown over.
Half the county seems to be without power but mine's still on for a change.

Apart from the wind, seems quiet round these parts. Neighbours either side seem to have gone awol.

Bore da. Away game. Again. Maidstone this time so possibly not as bad a journey as some weeks and a 10am kick off so might actually get most of the afternoon. And it’s freezing so treated myself to a full fat breakfast and coffee.

Research group meeting this afternoon, and a take away with a couple of friends this evening, if they’re still up to it given that the hubby only came off his chemo a couple of days ago.

    Poor things.

Bloody rough here last night. Still very windy - wind chill is incredible. The only damage from what I can gather is the trampoline.

A grey day in Flanders fields. Well still in town actually, heading out in a while into the countryside, no way we're riding hire bikes. Wet 'n' cold. Pick up some excellent Trappist beers from the monastery at v sensible prices. Then come back into town, re park up the cars, embark on an afternoon of different beers in different bars. Plan.

May be talking about the bottles of trappist, never know.

Minimal damage here few branches mainly just wet. Exciting day for me, new bandsaw turns up later. May leave putting it in the garage till Sunday, still going to be windy just not quite as windy.

    Morning folks,
Traditional slow start is being enjoyed. Might make coffee next. A bit blowy here last night, but not too bad. Going shopping with the lad as he wants some new running shoes for Christmas. The EPO likes to do these things early and this one is for me to do as I know more about that sort of thing. Apparently some people believe Christmas Eve is too late to buy presents.
I reckon 'loon might have some friends by the sounds of that Piña, might seem hard to believe for one as curmudgeonly as you 😁

    Morning,

Good lie in, late one last night after hanging around to transport junior home. Last nights breeze rather handily blew a load of leaves off the garden, saves me a job. Another tip visit then family trip out with the hounds.

  • Sunny day for a change, all day.

Managed a short, slow walk with the dog, first in a week. Did some bike fettling in preparation for when I can get back on one - forecast this week is pretty decent.

Faffed about with new saw testing a few things, then had a lounge about in the late afternoon sunshine for a couple hours before drinkies o'clock.

Aldi and Greggs are closed because the storm's brought the power lines down. People are now wandering the streets wondering what to do with their Saturday.

A lorry has been "blown over" (i.e. took the corner too fast) and has rolled down the bank stopping outside the staff entrance to Tesco. It's takes more than that to close a Tesco though.

Might venture out further afield for more lols.

He might be very fond of his hand :)

BUPA physio lady did an assessment and told me my leg problem was likely a muscle tear amd not too much to worry about but it's come back with a vengeance today so have decided to drink it away while watching the box, so watching watching some of the first series of Dexter before the footy.

One of those was in the recommendations, funnily enough.

Recommended exercises/stretching are a load of bollox though, I'll just need to be patient.

It is self inflicted: Not go on a bike for a while and then go up and down downs (lol), instead of easing back in to it.

I think that's the next stage of the treatment if this doesn't work.

Going out on the bike while still injured maybe didn't help. What I hadn't realised then was the pain comes and goes so I thought I was OK to go for a ride. Got that one wrong.
