Home exercise bike..

Hello, new to the world of cycling and purchasing a home exercise bike but I don’t know what to look for. Some people recommend peloton but seems very expensive is it worth it?

ive looked at watt bike and echoleon but a friend of mine said can be better just getting a bike an adding iPad to it so I’m completely lost.

many recommendations the bike is for my wife and I beginner to intermediate cyclists

any advice? Or recommendations would be great as happy to spend up to £1000 but not sure if need to spend that much

    My advice - get a bike you can enjoy riding outdoors first. Then attach it to a trainer to meet your budget (see below) if required. There are many apps to reduce the boredom.

    Frankly, if you have never used a trainer indoors, I would not go mad on what you purchase meaning I would certainly rule out a Watt bike (although I hear good things about it) and would leave Peloton well alone unless you like group activities.

    If I were you, I would follow the link in the post above which takes you to a very detailed site which is well worth viewing. However, if you were looking for a recommendation for a purchase, I think I would consider the following as my first purchase.... and yes, I know its from Halfords....sorry:

    Elite is a well known brand and this machine is "smart" in that it links in with apps like Zwift etc. It comes with 12 months free membership of their own app but after that, Zwift or Sufferfest will come in at about a tenner a month: much less than Peloton!

    If you buy peloton, you will end up paying for all of the celebrity endorsements.

    Anything Zwift related will help you pass the time better than a bog standard stationary bike, but as others have said if you don't enjoy cycling outdoors, chances are you won't indoors either.
