Rohan Dennis = 2020 TdF winner?

Looks like TdF will be an e-race which plays into the strength of TT specialists like Rohan Dennis. He can go solo and people will not catch him.

Matieu van der Poel could also be quite interesting and might suprise a few people despite not being a road cyclist. He is specialized in short high-intensity races as a cyclocross rider, so he should have an advantage also over most riders.

Neither of those. There are some middle aged men on Zwift putting out 8 w/kg on a regular basis.

Is this trolling? He won 11 road races including 3 stages and GC of the TOB, DDV, Brabantse Pijl, and Amstel Gold. for reference Peter Sagan won 4 in the same season.

Was it not also you calling him over rated because a triathlete beat him on Zwift?

Look who the OP is and ignore unless you want a chuckle.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

:D:D:D Both would get their legs ripped off in a top level Zwift race by old blokes in garages

Well, it might be good for some news on the real Tour.

That was the last rumour, just wondered if there was anything more concrete - when do they tend to announce all these things, after the tour, or right at the end of the season?

Pretty sure he said he didn't want the pressure, and wanted to be a, highly talented, domestique instead.

    How's his sprinting?

for ~50 minutes on the tri bars, pretty good I hear :D

UAE could use him if he isn't too expensive. Pogacar has been dominating with half a team pretty much.

Yeah and he genuinely doesn't seem reliable. You could get the greatest domestique in the world or a guy who no shows on everything important and everything in between. You get much more stable returns with Castroviejo, Kwiatkowski, Declercq, Oss, Caruso etc.

He seemed pretty reliable for the races I saw him in for Ineos, there's a strong argument to be had that without him they wouldn't have bagged the Vuelta Giro last year.

Agree though he can blow hot and cold, but I guess his hot is maybe hotter than the likes of Castroviejo (Though he was very impressive in both the Giro and the Tour I'll grant you) when he is at his absolute peak, but that Castroviejo can be more consistent for longer periods.

was the Giro last year, but entirely agree that he was pretty key to that win.

This year his TT form hasn't been as good last year, and not improving towards the Tour, so he probably just wasn't felt to be as strong yet.

His best is without question better than Castroviejo. His best is good enough to podium at the Tour if there is enough TT km's. You just can't bet the house you're going to be getting that best version.

I put that Giro ride down to him being settled at Ineos so was surprised when talk started about him moving. It felt a good match, that Giro version of Dennis is too good to let go and being on a team where you can be allowed to pick up a presumably good salary in that sort of support role would seem ideal for Dennis. He cost me PTP points this season though, he has been like a different rider.
