XPO Logistic's marketing manager ought to be asking for a raise after this long shot of Pogacar's attack. Less so the TV director...

Be amazed if its happened before. Young riders winning GC is a relatively modern thing no?

He would have won the white jersey too if they had it then

Fair enough, the combination jersey isn't on the wikipedia link I looked on.

Will be interesting if Pog beats Ullrich record of consecutive leading White Jersey think Ullrich was 40 days in a row from 96-98

    Cannibal ;) He's a hungry lad isn't he?

He's not going to make many friends though and there'll be times where he isn't finding it so easy. OK it was down to Ineos that Poels got caught today so you can't blame him going all in for the stage but it would be interesting to see what he would have done had the stage been available with Poels still up the road. I'm firmly in the 'it's a race' camp but in the long run that sort of thing can come back and bite you.

It would be interesting to see what those who moaned about the boring Sky domination think of this race. As for the talk of whether it would have been closer if Roglic hadn't had his crash, does anyone really think he would have stayed with Pog on the attack on Stage 8? I think he'd have been a solid 2nd on the basis of his TT but still way off the top spot.

A old guy jersey makes more sense

Without a prolog or uphill finish stage one ?

I've got no problem with him flying off for the win. He's far and away the strongest rider and MTF stage win in the Tour is always a big prize.

You would think he won't win the TT on Saturday as any remaining specialists have had a much easier few days but I certainly wouldn't bet against it. I was originally thinking the TT was tomorrow to give him a chance of 3 on the trot. He'll probably win the bunch sprint though!

Cav in 32 minutes down so comfortable yet again. Hopefully it hasn't stretched him too much before tomorrow.
