Rent a CCX bike?

There is a local CCX series race, that's relaxed and fun, and I fancy having a go (my kids have been doing the Under10s races). I don't fancy being right at the back on my MTB, but there is no chance I can justify buying a CCX bike just for the occasional fun race.
Can you rent a CCX bike from anywhere? I'm in East Berkshire.

    I'm sure that a few years back British Cycling used to have some CX bikes they'd loan riders at races, nothing fancy but did the job. It's about five years back since I saw them so not sure if it's still a thing.
