Morning. Emergency trip to the vets last night, doggo in overnight so no walk this morning. May need the day off work until he's sorted, not least of all because I'm knackered. Absolutely fine then a couple hours of lying in bed and he couldn't get up and wouldn't eat. Has a temperature and swollen lymph nodes in his right hind leg apparently...we wait to find out what that means in reality...

Sorry for the doom and gloom. Looks like a nice morning out.

    Cold, clear and bright morning.

I was up at 6:50. There's only usually one 6:50 in my day now that I've retired, it's a bit of a shock to the system.

The reason for this early(!) hour is a supposed visit from TalkTalk engineer to fix my poor broadband speed. He's due between 7-9am, which means about 8:57 I should think, if he comes at all.

The older I get, the better I was.

Don’t apologise we care more about each other’s pets than each other on here

    Hope the hound is ok

Time arrival to holiday home to perfection, though it did mean setting cruise control to close to the limit.

Today is holiday stuff, maybe a run soon, without doubt a beach and pub

    Morning!

Doing a couple of EdD interviews this morning followed by a pulling out of the finger and finally finishing marking and uploads. Turbo session at some point.

Nibnob - hope doggo is ok. Always a worry when they’re not.

    Morning all.

Snowing here too and it's settled overnight. Probably means we can't get the car up the hill and out of the cul-de-sac.

Wife has messaged doc already (they don't accept calls during lockdown, everything Is done online and then they call you). HR still all over the place. She does get anxiety yes hoppy, but she's never had this.

    Hope the dogs ok nibnob.

Greetings from the great cold enclaves of Heckshire where even we have snow thanks to this biting northern wind.

Apparently loads of people booked today off to go shopping, so that'll be 10k people and about 13 teeth between then going round Primark.
Nibnob, hope the hounds alright ours is similar she keeps having to go in an out of the vets.

Horribly cold though rode yesterday despite feeling awful only managed about 40K but somehow got in 600m of climbing? I don't know how that works in flat Heckshire.
Anyway coffee beckons me to its dark embrace or some equally dark nonsense.

That wobbly HR symptom doesn't sound good Monsieur le elbow. Trust your GP practice get on the case. If only there was a regular on here with some medical expertise...

Plan B day yet to be formulated. Was to be ground clearance, lifting and cleaning old paving etc round at daughter's place. Not with several cm of snow lying about making things cold, wet and gloopy. April showers, 2021 stylee.

    Coffee and contemplate.

nah, fam. unless you know the patient's full history, possible meds, lifestyle, age, weight, past test results, current test results, discuss the issue, do more tests and have an ecg in front of you with patient so you can do all the other bits then all you're doing is guessing and giving bad info and causing more stress leading to the problem potentially getting worse.

    Cardie specialist/GP for this.

Thats alright - as its you I'll let you off.

Tbh though, there are enough internet Dougie Howsers on this forum so if we did bosh it in Road General we'd have enough answers to fuel a small city.

Flipping freezing out and snow as mentioned above. You don’t expect silly weather like this in April London. I’ll have to find someone to complain to.

Cold and white this morning but the glorious sunshine has burnt it off.

Good luck to unwell wives and dogs.

Junior hound turns 2 yo today so he gets some extra treats, hopefully he'll stop a lunatic soon. I've been inside all morning and ignoring the small amount of snow that drifted down but didn't settle - might be chilly on the bike tomorrow though. Busy enough anyhow with finishing off the annual year end torturing of numbers, but we're there after a slight less than lazy weekend.

    Afternoon folks,
Glad I got the bike back together last night so i could leave it in the garage and drive to the orifice. Took one look at the snow and thought "sodthatforagameofsoldiers" as I've decided to only ride in if I'll enjoy it. That and i hadn't put the mudguards back on so it could be my fault. Although mudguards have a new purpose I discovered at the weekend. There was this weird film of stuff peeling off the front mech, took me a while to realise it was latex sealant from the back tyre.
Good luck between the hospital and the doc's Elbow, not the kind of messing about you need. People must be concerned, nobody's asked for pictures of the trouble yet.
Also good luck with the dog nibnob, hopefully nothing too serious.
I just popped down to Sainsbury's to get some lunch and spotted a bit of peak Hanworth. A pair of trollopes cutting through the petrol station with a trolley containing someone's kid* and 2 carrier bags, they cut through the petrol station to avoid the trolley stopping magnets on the pavement. I was particularly impressed with the fluffy bedroom slippers they were wearing.

    * Could have been their's but I doubt they know who the father is.

    Ha.

    No.

She just called to say I love you that they're doing a CT scan. God knows how long they'll take to actually do it.
