Neither Brown nor Miliband were tories...

and yet Boris has borrowed huge chunks of their manifestos. JC wanted to raise corporation tax to an eye bleedingly high 26% and was denounced as a deranged trot trying to destroy the UK economy. Why do the same denouncers not denounce Boris/Rishi as deranged trots trying to destroy the UK economy?

Blair was not a Tory yet his economic policies were way to the right of the current Govt.

Imagine if Starmer introduced a manifesto promising fiscal prudence and a rolling back of the State to leave individuals with more freedom to make their own decisions?

Insanely millions would vote for the blue rosette because that is what they always do even though that rosette now stands for all of the things they pasionately argued against ten years ago
that isn't a serious question is it?
Is it a bit too complicated a concept for you?

It doesn't skew right, but equally, I suspect a majority of us have voted Tory at some point, and this isn't the leftie stronghold it's sometimes made out to be.

We don't have a single open Labour voter. Not a one! Not even a reluctant Keir Starmer voter...

Not to mention that the very youngest of us are mid-thirties, (?)married, (?)home owners with kids.

    Of course it's skewed right!
we've got full spectrum lefties, anti royalist, redistribution of wealth twunts. its just that most of the lefty contributors are also ultra privileged and live in the Home Counties, have never worked for much in their lives and feel their mental health is something others should care about but at the same time go on crusades for those who they and the popular self-indulgent people like them feel are downtrodden and can't look after themselves; this group appears to include women, black people, gay people, muslims and terrorists.

In fact everyone but them. which raises interesting questions about their own delusional egos.

    Its a great place :)

You do know that the majority of people in the Home Counties, like everywhere else, are working class, low to middle wage workers right?

Mmm. So, stop all public spending then. Private sector can just buy what it needs. It can train its own people from the age of 5, build its own private roads to get them to and from work. Use its own power generating infrastructure. And its own telephone and communications infrastructure. Discuss.

Given that the government has borrowed ~£400bn from itself (sorry, the 'independent' Bank of England) and paid that to a number of private companies, I think it's a bit of a stretch to say public spending is entirely funded by the private sector. It contributes a portion.

Unless you're minting your own 😉

and will fund it in part by raising the corporation tax from 19 to 25% that's a raise of more than 25%. that's not just to pay for the furlough schemes and business interruption payments. one way or another government revenue will be used to pay for it.
