This mild stuff is all very well but it's bleedin damp.

I have been thinking about your idea of towing the jet stream a few thousand km south and I cannot abide by it.
If you do that, we'll be in very cold air from the arctic.
If you towed it North, we would be in constant mild air, very hot in summer. Hedgehogs would not hibernate and could you guarantee enough food for them?

Anyway, pancakes it will be for lunch. Shorty gets thick one's* and the rest if us, Crêpe.

Pancakes meh. Savoury crepes avec stuff, 👍

Work work day. Thanks for the short sharp blast of rain just now to start things off properly soggy. Will be a long one of close of winter / start of spring tasks. Client family been isolating due to teen daughter testing positive (how did she manage that in these no school lock down days?) but should have passed the end date by now. Still keep well distanced though.

Work with a couple of calls that need silence which will be a challenge with kids and builders 🙄

Later should be a run but hip is still sore unless cycling so may go out on the bike

...i Agee Pinno the jet stream needs to move north...

    Wasn't advocating either.
Move it south for November to February and then North the rest of the time. Gently shift it in between.

    Damp outside
    WFH
    Maybe a bike ride later

Got some ready made pancakes in the fridge, they were cheaper than home made so we'll see what they're like. Unsweetened so can be used for savoury things too.

Basically, apply some wibble to it.

Highly soggy here, window fitters tweak to the patio door moat seems to be working as the moat has gone from the door tracks. Plenty of work related faffery which I'm neither in the mood for or should be involved in but I have to educate people to understand that.

Will maybe make okonomiyaki again, for pancake day.

Meetings AM, turbo after that and then some Engineering PM. Playing Flamme Rouge over Zoom, this evening.

  • WFW with slightly achey legs from two consecutive days runnering.

Not sure if pancakes are on the cards for later, knowing my wife and her calorie campaign probably not.

Hmmm, so talk of hot cross buns prompted much debate over how they should be served, but that talk of pancakes has illicited no such response, just mild rumblings over sweet or savoury.

If sweet, it needs nothing more than sugar and some lemon juice (the classic).

If savoury, i would normally have gone with just ham and cheese, but i have not been a meat eater for many a year now. I do generally prefer savoury over sweet things however.

Aye, sugar and lemon for crêpes. Or suzette with some creme chantilly. Waaay too much faff for home though.

I've had a savoury galette before where they break an egg on the pancake, top with cheese, then fold it all up, that's nice. You'd probably need one of those crepe making things though.

Mrs H³ likes to make the fluffy pancakes and have with bacon and syrup.

Wfh, look out of window at rain. Not much else.

Bore da. Was going to get out of the house for a ride this morning but didn’t. Turbo trainer is throwing a wobbly so pointless using that. Might try for a run later if only to drag #1 son outside for 45 minutes. Bit of a “meh” day today I feel

we were discussing this the other day - TDV reckons you can do them in our pancake pan, I remain dubious though.

A drizzle of syrup is OK instead of sugar, maple is better than golden but never syrup and lemon juice.
Nutella is nice for 1 pancake, but I think it makes it a bit rich and reduces the number of pancakes you can manage to eat.

    Morning folks,
wfh day for me which means a slightly more leisurely start at least. I'm a couple of cups of tea in so will divert to coffee now. Agree with Thistle on the pancakes, I will of course be tossing for all I'm worth this evening. Have to take the EP to the dental unit at the hospital later, other than that won't be going out as it's gopping.
My mind substituted a three letter word in Pina's post from last night with another three letter word, this meant I had visions of someone towing a large silver caravan south from Sweatland behind a ropey old Porker.
