BB Sleeve - Warranty Issue?

Long story short.

Sleeve has come out of the BB shell of my carbon framed bike.

Manufacturer has responded that this is not a warranty issue and is due to lack of maintenance.

Bike is summer only, and maintained by a professional mechanic on a regular basis. Frame is 5 years old and has about 25,000km on it and is in very good condition with just the odd stone chip as would be expected for a frame of its age.

Am I wrong to be unhappy with this reasoning for denial of warranty claim?

    How can it be a lack of maintenance? How are you supposed to maintain glue?

    If it was seized between the BB cups or bearings and the shell they have evidence of that, they could have a point, but I would push back pretty damn hard otherwise.

    I had this happen on a Look 585 - it was a known issue on some early ones and Look dealt with it very well.

    Point of the post is it's definitely something fixable (well on Look 585s) - I've still got the bike.

    Does it still have the O.E. Shimano pressfit BB fitted or has it been replaced?

    This happened to my Bianchi 928 I got clipped by a car and the cranks took most of the impact. I claimed off the driver and got a new bike. The Bianchi has since been a turbo bike for 10 years but it’s not got any worse. I did find out later that the sleeve coming loose was not unusual of this model. I occasionally think about getting it fixed but it would mean spending money to end up with a bike I don’t need.

    In this case its simple - remove sleeve, slap a phuckton of Araldite in, job jobbed.

    these things are just glued in, its not a biggie.

    remember its a metric phuckton as well, not imperial.
