How to change the colour of graphics on a saddle?

As per the title, I've ordered a saddle at a good price, but I'd like to change at least some of the colours of the (I think) sewn in writing and graphics. They're a light colour and I want to change them - probably just to black. Should I just run a sharpie over them (taking care to tape around the edges so the rest of white saddle doesn't get messed up)? Anyone done anything like this? Other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

B

shoe polish worked wonders on an old Selle Italia SLR MF had.

The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

It was black shoe polish on a black saddle so get liquid shoe polish thing and just slop it on and leav to dry, let black shorts rub it down. Like a pair of shoes.

I presume you could use canned shoe polish, just use a cloth to apply.

depends how carefully he applied it i suppose.

he could always get one of those saddle covers everyone had in the 80s...

  • If your sat on it, no one will see it. Or do the right thing and get a black saddle.
  • In the end I've bought a white and a black one! Maybe tippex on the former

Tippex won't work as it dries hard and inflexible like paint - it'll just crack and fall off.

that white stuff you use on kiddies school plimsolls will work perfectly though.

Just searching now - it used to be on all the shelves in Woolworths, Edwyn used to stock it by the drapery and assorted meats section as well.

Just Amazon'd it but it came up with lots of paints for leather, not the stuff I'm thing of.

    Just use Adobe Photoshop.
Take a photo of your saddle. Alter the colour in Ps.
Save the new saddle photo to your phone.
Avoid eye contact with the real saddle, only look at the photo of the newly coloured saddle on your phone, before sitting down.

    Inspired!

CC - nothing actually 'wrong' with the saddle logo, just it says 'lady' on it and, as in touch with my feminine side as I like to think I am, lady is not an accurate description of me...

And thanks for digging up the product.

Correct. For less than half the price of the exact same saddle that didn't say lady on it...(and it ain't cheap). Plus my bike has some pink detailing on it. Hang on, maybe I'm digging myself a hole here! :D

    Nothing wrong with pink.
  • Nothing wrong with pink.

    That’s very true.

In fact it’s only fairly recent thinking that denotes pink as a feminine colour. Go back a little way and pink was a considered a very masculine colour indeed
