When AI becomes self aware and there is a new science and technological revolution. I would love to just see various periods in the future of how it evolves and what it observers and the knowledge it gains in the universe.

Maybe, but, judging by how censored useless anti-spam filters are at recognising blatantly obvious stuff, there's a while to go yet.

And how would you know when an AI is self-aware? What does "self-aware" even mean?
I guess when it gets to the point it can use the internet as a memory and brain to evolve from make comparison, conclusions and start adding to it.

Anyone else not seeing Twitter links in people's posts?
The only way I get visibility is to use the quote function.

eg from the Brexit thread I do not see YR's post at all -

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Maybe the forum has put a BS filter in?

I don't see them on my desktop but they are visible if I use my phone. Haven't been arsed to solve it yet.

Something has been updated or modified in the background though as it worked fine up until yesterday. Hey ho, life without Twatter. Winner winner....

It's the 16th January. A neighbouring house still has the Christmas lights up and coming on morning and night. Don't know these people, think I've only seen and spoken with bloke once. Are they still alive? Did festive excess cause their bellies to expand so much they blew? In these lockdown times es permitado to go door knocking to check? Or do I just wait to see if the flies start crawling on the window panes? Strange.

Are you sure they haven’t taken them down and then put up next years?

Ooooo! Twatter is back! I have changed nothing at my end. 🤔 Swithered about putting this here, in the trivial cheers thread, or trivial annoys thread. 😉

So, was watching Octonauts on Cbeebies earlier and the episode featured a creature that had a crab and an anenome living together in a symbiotic relationship and they explained what symbiosis was (using that term).

Now, is it me or has kids tv (this is aimed at very young kids) come on a very long way?

I sit in a team meeting every week and every week some people pipe up with having to "wicket roll" things (hope this is the right spelling) and I literally have no idea what they mean.

Is it with regards to rolling the wicket in cricket to smooth things out?

Dunno, but would assume some 'preparing the pitch' analogy. Are the users trying to advertise that they went to the right school?

Not convinced you would talk about a wicket roll in cricket. More likely to say something like "needs the heavy roller".

Add me to the list of people who have no idea what it means, and I hear plenty of needless jargon.

How long has this been going on for, is it far too late to ask?

I used to worry that I was cracking up by developing such a dislike for him. I also used to wonder why Fireman Sam did not murder Norman Price until I figured out he was their best customer

On that note, Postman Pat (modern version, "Special Delivery Service") seems to be the worst delivery man on the planet. Consistently late, always has his customers worried about everything, regularly loses the parcel or deliverable and has to rope in half the town's emergency services to save them, and yet he's consistently awarded "best postman ever" awards and claims he's never late with a delivery.

Also has a fleet of vehicles available for what seems to be 1 delivery a day
