    The people who manufacture luxury yachts from carbon fibre have a lot to learn from cyclists who are worried about 'water ingress'. ;)

    osmosis in fibreglass yachts can be quite a problem. I'm not yet aware of any problems with carbon fibre yachts in that respect

    Let's hope the OP isn't planning on adding 200kg of reinforcing carbon to shore up his fork then.

    I'll ask this question again. How is it that you're worried about a small chip or scratch in carbon fiber yet find the courage to ride carbon bikes, wheels, and components?
