105 7000 Front Mech

After a bit of advice. Recabling a new bike as the outers needed desperately shortening. 105 7000 hoods- changed lever down to small ring and threaded cable back thru the outboard port. I then however accidentally triggered the upshift lever, and now it seems I can't get the paddle to shift back down to small ring so I can carry on the recabling. Any ideas how to "unstick", the cable? No amount of tension (pulling on the cable) seems to enable the "click" back down if that makes sense?

  • Ignore. Sorted. The pulled back rubber hood was preventing the trigger mechanisms underneath the hood from retracting properly. Eejit...

Yup - easy to do and takes ages to realise what you've done.

The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.
  • Yep, pull your hood back to enter the small ring.

And never go in dry. Always make sure everything is well lubed up before you reassemble.

no need to lube if you dont care about the longevity of your ride.
