Cold, wet, probably icy. No outdoor riding planned.
    Nothing else planned either.

Hounds walked and now off for a run with a pal, then riding with another chap later.

Long walk with current wife before rugby and f1 watching, probably in the home bar but may just go to the local and like last night read the menu whilst having a few drinks before remembering I had already eaten

A white wonderland today - as if it snowed. However, brilliant sunshine.
May pedal if the sun lifts the frost.

When the sun hangs low in the eastern sky,
Caught in the trees that shiver and shy,
Red as the robin that flits nearby,
Sing hey, for a frosty morning!

    Still got the ride on?

  • I'll have to get my finger out and pump my tyres up. Sat here drinking tea, the day driffting by and there's hardly any wind, anywhere right now and the frost seems to have gone.

    Move my @rse...

Lovely clear blue skies and hardly any wind at all.
Just watched a neighbour scrape the ice off his car and the low sun blinded a driver who thought it was a good idea to carry on and hit my mate at this time last year.
    Pondering alternatives. Wuss.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

    Morning folks,
Traditional slow start was enjoyed, need to go in search of sustenance. Then off to the old dear's as she has bought herself a Christmas tree. This is good as she couldn't face it for the last couple of years.

    ....Frozen 2...

2C here with that chilling mist hanging about. An hour of bike cleaning and fettling, man it got dirrrty yesterday, and I'm Frozen. Retreat indoors time. Actually might pop up town and get some Chrissie cards from the charity shop, bah and humbug.

Update. My next door neighbour has just started mowing his lawn, wearing shorts. Hard core.

Apologies for the video quality folks.
It was the second Youtube video I have uploaded and the first time I used my SLR camera.

Now I have a handle on lighting, the damn autofocus being a PITA, being too close - but that wasn't apparent on the SLR screen, the next filming should be a helluva lot better.

    How many would I need?!

I ran out of mini figures. In fact, I don't have any - I 'borrowed' them off the girls.

Made shim out of Guinness can - tight as anything to get in but not sure if it will do the job completely.... May slosh a bucket of carbon paste down there as well.

    Yes.

    These are pretty good.
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxajhAarfFwx-p-aDwqVEUw

Though I try not to look at them to closely as i'll end up just copying.

I have copied the Carden lift and taken elements out of Akiyuchi's trigger machine simply because the mechanisms are brilliant. I made a Josh David mini loop which scaled up did not work, so I had to make my own - that's the 2 opposing lifting arms. The only common element was a sliding mechanism on the arm which gives you a flat spot top and bottom which allows momentary pause to pick and drop off the ball.
The rest is all mine and reasonably unique.

I had used marbles but @ over 4gms each, put too much pressure on the mechanisms so made the transition to plastic balls (under 2gms each) and this has taken me 2 months to mitigate.
I'm still tinkering with the modules. They're not smooth, have little mass and behave differently but I could not get the whole loop running well with marbles. Pity, as they are much more aesthetic.
