Flying with a bike with integrated cockpit- How to pack?

I'm taking delivery of my 2021 Trek Emonda SLR next month..I have a question about flying with this bike in a bike box. Bearing in mind it has an integrated stem and handlebar...what is the best way to pack this in the box for a flight? Is it possible to remove the integrated bar and stem from the front fork?

    It is possible to lift the whole cockpit off of the steerer / frame, however I found I had to release the front calliper from the forks in order to get enough lift on the integrated Metron stem / bars on my XR4. If you have rim brakes it would only need you to release the cable.

    Just hire/buy the bike box alan tri box and you can leave the bars in place

    I’ve used an ordinary ‘Bike Box Alan’ for years. I just remove the stem / bars together to fit it in the box. As well as the saddle / seat-tube / pedals. BBA has a video on the site to show this. This is for a normal bike with rim brakes / mechanical shifting.

    I have the Trek Emonda 2021 as well (with disks) as my winter bike. The all in one stem / bar should come off in exactly the same way. I don’t know how wheels with disks will fit in the same box?

    i use an orignal bikebox alan and have integrated bars-stem, i just remove them, rotate and there're some straps positioned to hold them

    looking at the trek, one issue may be the internal cable routing, there must enough slack to take the bars off and get them in the correct position in the box

    as above, bba also do a bigger box that allows packing without removing the bars, might be a better option
