c02 inflator help

Im using a Genuine innovations C02 inflator but when I put the cartridge into the cradle and screw it together the C02 all comes out, it used to work ok and it used to only empty the cartridge when I pressed the trigger, what am I doing wrong?

    Sounds like you have a damaged or missing a rubber sealing O ring from the head, or the valve is faulty. It might be last time you used it the rubber ring froze to the cartridge and came out when you unscrewed it (if you did this very soon after using it)

    Where is the CO2 coming out of? The valve end or where you screw it in?

    If that is the case then the O ring is either missing or damaged or might have a bit of dirt in there. Have a look. Missing or damaged would probably mean a new unit unless you have a stock of very small O rings or a very very good local hardware shop.

    If the gas is escaping in one go, it’s possible you’re screwing the head down too slowly. Slowly screw it down, until you meet resistance, then grab the cartridge in one hand hand the inflator head with the other, and rapidly screw it down, and don’t worry if you lose a small squirt of gas whilst you do. Don’t stop when you hear the gas escaping, and within a second it will seat and you’ll be fine. If it’s losing the gas and you have tightened it fully, it’s most likely the little rubber washer inside, at the base of the spike has failed, or is missing. If it is I’d highly recommend this.

    It’s a cracking bit of kit, and the ‘press on’ type, which makes life easier than the screw on type.

    I always put a bit of silicon grease on the end of the cartridge and screw it in to the inflator, then just screw it in tight to break the seal when needed.
