Specialized Slaughter tyres

in MTB buying advice
I have just bought X2 Specialized Slaughter tyres and will be running one up front and one at the back. I have just read that that they are designed primarily for rear rims, so I am a little nervous I will be lacking grip up front now? Has anyone used Slaughters up front? Whats your view?

    Yes, the Slaughter is designed for the rear.
    Can you return one or exchange it for something better suited for the front?
