Is quite interesting that Team Ineos will change their name to Ineos Grenadiers while cyclists and cars are not exactly the best buddies on the road.

There have been teams sponsored by car companies for many years. Ford, Peugeot and Renault to name three.

Anyone who buys a grenadier is likely to be a cyclist hater.

And then there's Skoda that partners with the A.S.O.
  • More odd that they are named after an ineos car but use Ford vehicles.

They'd struggle to use an ineos car.

Yet another poor attempt at trolling. I mean, everyone knows that cyclists don't drive cars and motorists never cycle

I thought their market was the old Land Rover Defender users, people who need a proper off-roader like farmers etc. I didn't think it was going to be aimed at Chelsea Tractor drivers.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Ineos are just thinking ahead - given the popularity of gravel sections on some stages/ races now a 4x4 will be the best option for a support/ team vehicle :D

There is always a bit of conflict though. Team Sky were all about saving Orca's and Ocean life, but their bikes were powered by fishing kit.

Dunno, fits my use case pretty well TBH, albeit I'll need a step ladder to get the bikes on the roof.

Outside UCI limits so it couldnt be used. wasnt there a Roubaix or Flanders where a car drove over a competitors bike (and nearly him!)

The bikes go inside, or get the pickup.

Not sure you could get a 4x4 up the Koppenburg tbh.

Car went into Viviani on one of the cobbled sections at Roubaix didn't it. Or was that a motorbike?

The 2011 TdF one is just the one that is most memorable to me.
I dare say that there have been countless others.

At least he's climbing out the top and not adding injury to insult by opening the passenger door into his face.

Was it Rock Racing that wanted to use hummers or something as support cars but they're too high ?

Love to see the mechanics try and get bikes off a Grenadier roof anyway.

  • I assume the Grand Depart and the Ineos owned Nice football team was too good a link to resist a bit of PR for both?
