Pinot's tears abandoning TdF last year aren't a heart-rending manifestation of his humanity, they're the evidence of a fragile, cosseted ego, a little boy who has never grown up.
Am I doing this right?
“Road racing was over and the UCI had banned my riding positions on the track, so it was like ‘Jings, crivvens, help ma Boab, what do I do now? I know, I’ll go away and be depressed for 10 years’.”
The idea of a 'Patron' (like Hinault especially) is just toxic masculinity and bullying
All the antipathy against Froome since 2012 is just a surrogate for Armstrong
An opinion that may not be unpopular - The way the French view cycling and the way England see football is very similar and have the same failings and solutions
I don't see any of them as controversial
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.
If AtC and RR were still active on here I'd fear for your life...so yes!
Snitches get stitches.

Watching Milan-San Remo live is a total waste of a Saturday afternoon.
It's not like there's a whole load of stuff to do at the moment...
Cricket's on...
Ha I just posted in other thread about MSR surely being better than watching cricket. (As a proud scot it's in my DNA to not be interested in cricket.)
Profiles should show distance to go, not distanced covered, to match with viewing on TV and save us having to do any maths.

Alf Engers would have beaten Merckx hour record, had he had a chance
Bold statement, ugo. Based on?
Well, Engers was the first to go under 50 minutes on a 25... that was on a road bike with no aerodynamics and on a non perfectly flat course... so that's nearly 49 km/h... I think on the boards he could have gone faster and beat Merckx' time.
Merckx could have beaten his own time, but that's a different story
I know the kit is different but if you take Dowsett's 25 mile PB and hour record it doesn't back your case that you ride faster on the track than in a TT.
Strong teams in GTs are overrated. It's nearly always the guy with the best legs that wins.
2008 Tour de France says different.
Evans was better?
Even his own teammates were better than Sastre (the Schlecks)
I'm not denying better riders have been denied by their own teams. 2012 tour is a possible example. Not sure it is true in 2008 though given their overall finishing positions.
I don't think Evans was the better rider in 2008 - he misjudged how much he could take back in the TT and finished nearly a minute down.

He got tactically outdone pure and simple.
Because he didn't have the legs in my opinion
Watch that Alp stage again - takes up the chase far too late as he has no teammates and is playing silly buggers with the (faster than Sastre) Schlecks.

He either misjudged it or didn't have the legs, but if he did have the legs, there was nothing anyone could have done about it.
