Carbon Fork Chips

samfailedsamfailed Posts: 42
I have a few chips on the carbon forks on my Giant Defy Advanced 2 2018. One in particular looks quite deep and has exposed a small bit of black carbon fibre. I believe it happened when transporting the bike on the back of a car. I have two questions about this:

1. Is this purely cosmetic? There are no cracks and the area is small but quite deep. I'm not going to have some kind of Simon Pellaud/Gianni Moscon type incident? Are there any long-term effects from having a deep chip?

2. It looks awful and really annoys me every time I look at my forks. Is there anything can be done to repair and repaint the area?

Thanks!

nail varnish over it and do go out in the rain until sealed.

Does rain cause damage to carbon without paint?

Ever considered wood as a cheaper option?

    🤣🤣🤣
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.
