DT Swiss Hubs

Hi,

After some advice....

I took my bike into my LBS recently and as part of the work done, had my DT Swiss hubs serviced as there seemed to be a bit of play. The wheelset is the r24 spline and so had that lovely loud clicky sound when freewheeling.....

Since getting the bike back, the hub is now completely silent following a replacement of the bearings and can't quite work out how that's managed to happen? I'm presuming with my relatively limited freehub knowledge that it's been packed out with grease and is thus quieter but will this then stop the pawls from engaging as efficiently?

Any opinions welcome.

Cheers

DT Swiss hubs don't have pawls, there have a ratchet system, so no worries about engagement.

Adding grease does quieten them down.

The DT R24 spline wheels that I had did have pawls.

Ah, OK, to be honest I've only ever had 240's and 350's.
